For the past few months, I've been adding features to the site which I hope increase the value of Viz. Here's a list of things which have been added that in my opinion have really helped increase the value and demand for Viz.

Netplay Item = 25,000 Viz
Just about everyone who knows about netplay wants this item. I've seen lots of users talking about how they're saving up for the item. You don't need it to play netplay (unless you're a newbie) but you need it to create sessions and that is an ability that makes the 25,000 Viz well worth it.

Beta Test Ticket = 10,000 Viz
For those who can't wait for features to get out of beta, this item allows users to experience new systems weeks or even months before they launch. Definitely an item well worth the Viz and easy to save up for.

Sega CD Games = 100 - 1500 Viz (average game is 250 Viz)
The first CD system to hit vizzed, but it comes at a price. Due to the high bandwidth that these very large games will take up, they cost a lot of Viz. And since you still have to pay Viz to play these games even if you own the V-Machine or Laptop item, users will be in huge need of Viz if they plan to play a lot of these games.

MAME Games = 10 - 2000 Viz
Although MAME games are free of Viz for beta testers and staff members currently, once they officially launch, they'll cost Viz. 90% of the MAME games are really cheap, however, there are some MAME games that are as big as Sega CD games which means they'd be just as expensive. Unlike the Sega CD though, the V-Machine and Laptop items will allow you to play these games for free.

V-Machine = 25,000 Viz (had been 20,000 viz)
This item has been around for a long time but the price of it has been increased since the RGR has more systems now. It'll probably never go above 25,000 Viz though because I want it to be an item that someone could afford if they didn't want to earn the Viz and would rather just donate $25.

Laptop = 50,000 Viz (had been 25,000 Viz)
The laptop item is another item which has been around for a long time. However, it doubled it price for 2 reasons: 1. there are more games in the RGR and 2. it also gives you the benefits of the netplay item (so in other words, it's like having both the V-Machine and the Netplay Item)

I've also lowered the amount of Viz staff get per a post. The higher your powerlevel, the more Viz you get per a post. I've made some adjustments though so it's not that much more:
Newbie = 8 Viz => 8
Normal = 10 Viz => 10
Trusted = 12 Viz => 12
Elite = 15 Viz => 15
RGR Staff = 20 Viz => 18
Local Mods = 25 Viz => 20
Global Mods = 30 Viz => 22
Admins = 35 Viz => 25

Before anyone complains, just remember that there are so many ways to earn Viz. You can find a list here:

legacyme3 : You were my inspiration for making this thread. For many months now, you've complained about how Viz has no value. Even if these things I've done lately don't make you value it more, I hope it makes the other users value it more.

It's entirely possible. I'm glad you've been taking my words into consideration.

I will withold my opinion on whether or not the value has gone up up, but it's definitely higher than it was before. Which is all one can ask for. I'd suggest raising the average cost of the older games a bit. Like if it's 10 before, raise it to 25, but that's also assuming people will post to get the Viz they need to play the game. (most people forget you get 100 for coming each day, which would be 4 free games a day)

I thought that these items you have added would make the value of Viz go up as well, but people are really still unwilling to trade anything of value for it as of now..proven by the lack of takers I have had for my thread requesting a working GBA or DSi for upwards of 100k Viz. I think ultimately it will make the value go up but we might have to wait for awhile for this to happen.

legacyme3 : The only reason I want to keep the older games the price they are (which is cheap) is because other sites have the same games and I don't want users to have any reason to use other sites that are similar to vizzed. Games that are big in file size and that other sites don't have, I have no problem upping the price on.

Jordanv78 : We have had a boost in donations over the past month. I think the problem there is that not enough people know about the Vizzed Market. You might be correct though, it might take a little while before the changes I made start to increase the value of Viz.

As an average user, I suppose I'll put my two cents in:
I, for one, definitely feel that the value of Viz has climbed. Decently, at best, but I do feel a bit low for the first time in like a year. I have this bookmarked on chrome, so many times I just click the button, get my 100 viz, and am on my way. Over the years I was at like 40k viz, but the V-Machine and the new NetPlay feature can drain you quickly. As one of the most anticipated features, I think most users will be striving for the 20k Viz to get the NetPlay device. I might get the Beta Ticket, but if not I'll donate the rest of my Viz to others.

Also, David, I've never had my own source of income before, but as soon as I do, I believe I owe this site a donation. lol

Being a newer member , the value of Viz seems pretty high to me !

A lot of the sub forums and the forums in general don't seem to be real active , which makes it hard for me to raise in rank and gain more Viz other than just 100 a day for logging in.

I guess I mostly just want more people on the forums to chat with and potentially gain more viz!

I'm a bit split on whether it seems to me if the value has gone up or down, honestly.

Truly, you'd have to examine the people these items are being aimed at, and those who are buying them.
The way I feel it, the value is at an average, normal scale right now, basically the same as it always was.

For starters, the RGR seems to be aimed at towards people who don't know how to host emulators on their own computers, or don't know about emulators in general. These people come here for the RGR, and the RGR alone. They may get attracted to the Forums, but honestly, it looks like only about 15% stay and regularly post in them.

In the occasion where people stay and post in the forums often enough to reach a point where they post all the time, they tend to have learned about emulators and how to host them on their own computers. This seems to be the case with 75% (If not 90%) of the current regular posters on the board.

However, we do on occasions, as rare as it may be though, get people who joined for the forum without prior knowledge to the RGR (Which I may recall being the case with Lazlo with what I think was him searching for help with the controls on a game that I think was Sonic Generations for the PC, but I may be wrong). These 80% of these people seem to have little to no interests in the RGR upon joining, and continue to have no interest, being that most either don't like those games, or they already know about emulators. The ones that do stay for both seem to pay very little attention to the RGR, and more on the forums. After all, when they do gain an interest in the games, they need to have enough Viz for them.

And then there are the past users who came for the Retro Toon Room... We don't see much of them anymore, Nya~.

Now, I can only imagine people showing up from google, first place they enter being the VGR, and then instantly rage quitting due to "false advertisement" (Even though they were never told that the games would be playable there, I can guarantee there are fools who think they would be).

Overall, it seems like the overall value of Viz surrounds one certain group: The Nonstop RGR Gamers.

In my opinion, we should try to have Viz being added as a cost to more features among the community, mainly being the forums. Sure, the offer of being able to buy a Rented Forum is available, but the problem with that is: 1) The price to just purchase the section alone is at a shockingly high price of 50,000 Viz, scaring most forum members away from attempting to buy one, especially when they also use the RGR, 2) The current line up of rented forums alone don't even get too much attention drawn to them compared to the regular forums (Excluding a few of them, one being the Vizzed Pokemon Fan Club).

If I can suggest anything, maybe we can try to come up with more features that the Forum Users could find some interest in. If we can get the perfect idea up, the value for it would definitely rise up, Nya~.

Huh... This sounds like a movement to obligate those who play at the RGR to post in the forums.

If I'm not mistaken... That doesn't mean they will start posting only because of those games and items? And that doesn't mean that the posting quality will decrease because of they?
