So that's my question to you community, were you a Super Nintendo or Sega head. What system did you own? Did you own both? Which did you prefer? Tell in detail which brought a better experience to your childhood. For example, I myself owned both consoles I never liked the idea I could miss out on anything, even if it was just a single great game on a console, if I didn't own the console I couldn't play the cartridge, disc, etc. Which is the reason I own the three major consoles now, PS3, XBOX360, and Wii. But personally the Super Nintendo was my console of choice, the remote and graphics just felt right in my possession. Each new game was a new adventure or quest I was on determined to beat the game no matter how difficult. Well there's my short story, now tell yours.

Well when I was about 5 I had a Sega Genesis. While other kids had Gamecube's, PS2s, etc. I stayed up all night playing Sonic games. I'll never forget it! When I discovered the SNES games they did not feel the same as they did with the Genesis games. I don't have one, but I might buy one some day.

Sweet always love others opinions especially when they're the opposite of my interests I'm always curious when it comes to gaming consoles why people would prefer one to the other. Especially back then, because whatever was release on SNES was released on SEGA I always thought that SNES had Mario, and SEGA had Sonic everything else like the movie based games, or original games came out for both systems anyway. How ever, I later learned each system was dishing out ideas of their own for their own console.
Thanks for sharing.

I was a "Sega head" as you put it. I owned (and STILL own) a working Sega Genesis 16-bit console with around 30 cartridge games ranging from "Hardball" all the way to "Star flight" and "M1 Abrams Tank"

As for which one I prefer, I loved the Nintendo for the old games such as Mario and the quick games... but when it came down to racing and exploration games it was always the Sega Genesis that kept me on edge for hours with Road Rash 3 or some other brawler game combined with speed. Even when the PlayStation and Game cube came out I still would stay up hours on end playing the Genesis. I still hook it up on the flat screen to enjoy the old days just so I can play a true cartridge even though I have a PS3! I also have a working PlayStation and PS2 in my room. But nothing compares to the Genesis in my eyes.

Thanks for sharing. I myself probably have owned every system at least once loll. I had about five or six SNES systems throughout my life, not to mention how many Play Station one and two's. But I've lost touch with my belongings so if I'm not on this newly discovered site, I'm on the Play Station 3.
