I would say anime becasue the animation tends to be better from my point of view and the story lines are more indeph becasue there is less censorship in japan

anime no contest at all cartoons had a good run but now they're just retarded like cartoon network doesn't even have homemade cartoons instead they get cartoons imported from all around the world besides japan that just suck completely.

I would have to say anime the cartoons back then are very different from the ones today and I mean that as a bad thing.

Well considering all the rather pointless(plot and story wise)cartoons that have came out recently that are not in the lease entertaining nor comical I chose anime. Anime will always be better than cartoons in my opinion because they have better character design and story lines and alot better resolution and quality in the artwork.    

I always thought that cartoons are a kind of anime that's not from japan. Usually cartoons are made by America. Personally I think that both Cartoons and Anime are equally good, but due to the amount and style of anime I lean to that side.

Personally, I don't think you can judge a show by whether it's a "cartoon" or an "anime". I mean they have crappy titles for each. Then also, on top of that, it's like saying "American animation or Japanese animation?". But what about other countries? For example, Code Lyoko. That's French.

It pretty much depends on what the cartoon or anime happens to be, some are good and some are bad, so I ain't really going to choose. But based on cartoons on CN and Nick nowadays, I have to go with anime.

I choose anime because I watch a lot and  I have my own personal reason as of why and well cartoons nowadays are not good but back in the day they were....

I watch cartoons more than anime, I do not like Bakugan, Digimon, Pokemon, etc. animes.

Can we choose both? Cartoons to me are shows that are just silly or have no real story behind them, like the Mel Blanc voiced Looney Toons. Anime or cartoons with a story behind it, are generally better for the older generation. You may like it as a younger kid but you won't really appreciate it or LOVE it until you're much older since your understanding of concepts and issues is far more refined. An example of this for me would be Code Lyoko. Code Lyoko is a FRENCH anime(yes that's right, a FRENCH anime). When it was dubbed and debuted on Cartoon Network in the USA, I really liked it since the hook for me was its theme song. As I got older, I started to rewatch the series and started to appreciate it more and more and noticed things that I didn't notice before(like why they showed all these "visions" at the beginning of Season 2(form of foreshadowing)). The entire 4 seasons are on Youtube and a 5th Season is presently airing in France. However, this new Season replaced the 2D Animation with Live Action(I could write an essay on the pro's and con's of this alone), hence I am not sure you can call it an anime anymore.

I would take both if it was an option, but I have to go with cartoon over Anime. I love both, but I watch cartoons more.

I really like both styles. I enjoy watching anime like Pokemon, Yugioh, and shows like that. But for cartoons, I usually stick to the classics like Tom and Jerry, Batman, those shoes. I also really like Regular Show.
