There has been countless debates, arguments, and flame wars, but the Final Fantasy fandom can never seem to reach an agreeable consensus on who was REALLY the better villain. There have been valid arguments made for both sides, and regardless of the winner, one thing is certain. These are two of the greatest bosses in video game history. Will Sephiroth live up to his fame? Or will the Mad God, Kefka, take him down for good?

Please leave a comment below detailing who you voted for, and why. Let's see if we can have a debate without it digressing into nothing but a meaningless flame war.

KEFKA! The only reason Sephiroth is sooo insanely popular because he killed Aerith/Aeris. Granted, I don't really know much about Sephiroth, but Kefka is amusing. Sephiroth: TO THE PROMISED LAND!!  Kefka: SON OF A SUBMARINER!!!!!

I played both games.  Sure, Sephiroth killed one main character.  Kefka poisoned a city, killed all the children, destroyed the world as we knew it, and rained lightning bolts on cities that didn't obey his will.

He willfully destroyed espers to gain their powers.  He killed COUNTLESS people to rule the world.  He almost got there.  I believe Kefka is way worse than Sephiroth.  What'd Sephiroth do?  Kill one person?

Kefka had great music, he had a great laugh, he was completely about his own power and control and he killed an entire planet for all intents and purposes.  There's no way Sephiroth can be anywhere near Kefka.
End of story.

warmaker : Sephiroth killed only one person? He kills the president of Shinra the first hour into the 70 hour game. He levels Midgar, burns Niebelheim to the ground, gives the world radiation sickness from the meteor that destroyed Midgar, summoned 5 giant dragon monsters that went around the world destroying everything, and to be quite honest, wherever he went people would simply die. Trails of blood always followed this man wherever he went, and since you were always following him, you always saw his trails of blood. Not to mention that scene in the marsh when you see that giant snake impaled on a tree. The same giant snake that, at that level, was absolutely impossible for you to beat.

Also, though it is true that Kefka destroyed most of the world, Sephiroth did succeed in destroying everything else. All the other planets he destroyed in his Supernova attack. So.... yeah.
