If I could play God, just for 5 minutes, I would bring back the Olympic USA "Dream Team" from 1992 to take on the Olympic "Team USA" from these past games. Who do you think would win that match up and why? I will get the conversation started by voicing my opinion. I believe that the '92 team would win because it would be full of nearly unbeatable legends such as Scottie Pippen and Patrick Ewing that I think would be able to beat even the modern NBA's best.

Besides the obvious that the '92 dream team had Michael and Magic, they would win because they are a better team in general because they have better players.  I mean, Iguodala v. Pippen?  Not even close in my opinion.

I read a few discussions between the two teams.  There's no way the original dream team wouldn't win.  Patrick Ewing and David Robinson alone would split 45 rebounds.  There's nothing to debate.

Also, I doubt Iguodala is coming off the bench to face Pippen.  Pippen gets Carmelo or Lebron at the 3 spot.  Iguodala gets Chris Mullin.

I think 1992 wins but I think it is a closer game than people would think. A lot of people would say that 1992 had better bigs, but you have to remember that in 1992, bigs were allowed to do a lot more than they are today. The rules have changed to make bigs less effective offensively, like the back to the basket rule for example. Now a really strong center like Bynum can't just post you up anymore. I'm not sure that guys like Robinson and Ewing would be as good under the current rules.
