I always like to keep up on whatever documentaries pop up on Mininova, so when I saw this one I downloaded it. I've watched a variety of conspiracy theory hoo-hah in my days (tends to happen when you watch this stuff) and maybe I've received a kind of tolerance to it all... but this is one of worst I've ever seen.

Unless it can show me documentation from RELIABLE sources, I won't even waste my time watching it. My ex has been bugging me about this, as he does about every political conspiracy that exists (Illuminati included) and I have just lost any interest.

Can you just sum up what they are claiming this time and save us the two hours?

It's from Alex Jones.. the same nut who has spent all his time putting out 9/11, police state and other conspiracy theory books and films.

It basically states that Obama is not working for the American people, that he was installed by the New World Order and states;

* Obama is continuing the process of transforming America into something that resembles
Nazi Germany, with forced National Service, domestic civilian spies, warrantless wiretaps, the
destruction of the Second Amendment, FEMA camps and Martial Law.
* ObamaÆs handlers are openly announcing the creation of a new Bank of the World that
will dominate every nation on earth through carbon taxes and military force.
* International bankers purposefully engineered the worldwide financial meltdown to
bankrupt the nations of the planet and bring in World Government.
* Obama plans to loot the middle class, destroy pensions and federalize the states so that
the population is completely dependent on the Central Government.
* The Elite are using Obama to pacify the public so they can usher in the North American Union
by stealth, launch a new Cold War and continue the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan.

So basically, I thought that no matter who was in office.. this kind of thing would happen. I've been vindicated.

And let me guess, no actual facts to back any of this up at all? I swear, I want to punch something everytime someone mentions the "New World Order".

Why is it that every time someone hears the words conspiracy theory they always dismiss it? Sure it can be molded into whatever theory he wants but the FACT is NAFTA is real and if you do not believe in New World Order you should look at the logic of how global trading works.

Global trading alone is enough evidence to prove the existence on a new world order and to deny that would be silly because global trading alone is the reason why we are where we are and why we have what we have. Take a business class... We are more towards New World Order then most even realize, most of our products arn't even from America they are from China. In time, eventually we will have to unite as one in order to keep stuff going. Look at any major corporation today, they merge with one another to survive when stuff hits the fan...

Sure some of what he said was a theory but global trading is not a theory it is very real and that alone should hint at the existence of a New World Order.

There are two types of new world orders and I think most people deny it because of the theories such as the FEMA camps and such which destroy the meaning of it. But from a business standpoint New World Order can simply mean global trading and franchising which we are already doing. But we cannot call it a New World Order unless every country is apart of global trading and we unite with one currency. It's not a conspiracy theory it is simple business logic but yes Alex does present "some" theories but he also puts facts into it as well. That's my take on it...

I don't always dismiss it. I even believe a few (Kennedy assassination and 9/11). But a lot of the NWO stuff I cannot even watch because without exception every single piece on it I have seen has lacked any sort of reliable sources. I'm a history major, I check facts, and a lot of times crap they say is exactly that, crap. Yes, NAFTA exists, yes it has problems but it is not the great satan that conspiracy fanatics believe it to be. I mean, we have had a global economy since ancient times, right? And we haven't merged yet... and even if we did who says that it would be a horrible thing? All of what that guy says is based off of assumption and I cannot make myself listen to an argument based off of assumption because it is illogical.

If you want to talk about the possibility of the nations of the world adopting a universal currency, that is fine. But don't call it the New World Order because there is so much more extra baggage attached to that which will cause many to miss your point.

Now... purely on the monetary standpoint, what are your thoughts on a universal currency? Do you think this would be a good thing? I haven't taken an economics class since high school, but based off of the success of the Euro I would think that it could possibly work out.

Yeah, the term New World Order in and of itself is so yawn worthy that it isn't even worth the bother. You have people looking at institutions and methods that have existed in one way or another for YEARS and somehow turn that into "Obama was put into place so America turns into Nazi Germany"

Yeah.

Well, the upside is supposed to be similar that of the Euro. However the Euro operates with countries that are of a similar economic standing. They are mostly western European states and admission to the EU and use of the Euro as a national currency has requirements. That is a good okay within a region.

A global currency is a bad idea in my opinion. You would have countries like the USA sharing a currency with Zimbabwae. The economies are so vastly different that to value good in either country would be very difficult.

You also aren't just getting a global curreny but an entire system and institution that would control it. When you control the money you control the people. "Give me control of a nations money supply, and I care not who makes the laws." Mayer A. Rothschild. Giving more control to the banking/currency systems in the world would basically equal giving up our freedom.

Then there is the implementation of the currency. You have to get 250+ countries to agree to this. Many of these countries have been at war (on and off) for hundreds of years. Entire systems would have to change and agreements would have to be designed so that the currency was fair to all countries. What if the currency in one country bought bread for 1 unit of currency but in the next country it was 3 units? You would create black markets of smuggling, cross-border theft.... there is a lot of stuff that could go wrong in the implementation of it.

And in the end, what would a global currency actually solve? It wouldn't have fixed the credit crisis we just had. Sure it would make global trade easier but really, currency conversions arenot that big of a deal. I just don't see the value.

A very vaild point, and I think that is something that would have to be addressed before any such thing could take place. And honestly, I think it is something that "collapsing the world economy" would not allow for.

Going off on a conspiricy target tangent related to control of money... thoughts on the Federal Reserve system?

Elara: seems like a really bad idea leaving control of the money supply for an entire country to an independent corporation. Sure it may be called the "Federal" reserve.... but there is nothing federal about it except that it prints US dollars. I think it's a nice big scam set up by the international bankers to control the US money supply and control the government. You control the money supply and you control the country.
