You don't need to use the deck builders that they offer. You can create your own deck.  For phsycic/science I used a lot of ghost Pokémon since they aren't weak against physic themselves. Lightning golem was my big bread winner.  But if your looking for those cards you can probably fight the lightning gym people for a higher chance of getting them.  Also, remember to read your mail on the computer for free booster packs from the Doc. Hope that helps.
