Yeah the west may be best but I still like the Miami heat

The West is definitely better. Assuming there is an 82 game season (as this season it was shortened), in the West the 8th seed generally is in the mid-40s in terms of wins, whereas in the East there could be a losing record for the 8th seed. Furthermore, just look at the teams in each conference. In the West, you've got the Lakers, Spurs, and Thunder, three of the NBA's top teams. The Grizzlies and Clippers could be pretty good in the future too. In the East, pretty much the only elite team is the Heat (I'd hate to admit this as a Celtics fan ). The Bulls are kind of overrated, the Celtics are good but struggle against the elite teams, the Magic are no longer great, the Pacers are good but not great, and the Hawks make the playoffs almost every year but go nowhere (except when they swept the Bobcats in the Bobcats' only playoff appearance).

The West only seems better in my opinion because there are the Lakers, Thunder, and Spurs in that league. While the east has the Celtics and Bulls, they aren't good enough to compensate for that.

West is better.  They always have been.

Definitely the western conference. There is a lot of balanced talent on all of the teams in the west. On the eastern conference, there seems to be four teams that everyone flocks to, however the other teams in the conference lack the balanced talent like the western conference's teams.

The West has been better than the East since the end of the Jordan era.

This was especially noticeable in the early 2000s. All the Western teams that made the playoffs were considered threats, while most of the East teams were weak as heck.

And just look at how dominant the West has been despite the strong teams they've had. It's either been the Lakers, Spurs, or Mavericks taking home the title for 10 out of the last 14 seasons.

I like the West Coast best since it's always fierce till the end. In the east if you fall out, you're sunk. Jeremy Lin bailed out the Knicks last season.

It's no question that the Western Conference is stronger than the Eastern Conference. Although I prefer the east, the West has at least 9 or 10 teams that could make the playoffs and none of the 9 or 10 would be eliminated until the final week or so of the regular season. In fact in the last couple of weeks of last seasons regular season, 11 teams were eligible for playoff contention closing out the season. Unfortunately, Portland, Houston, and Phoenix couldn't make the team. The West overall is a better and more experienced conference.

The East is probably only going to have one championship contender this year, and that's obviously the Heat. Chicago won't have Derrick Rose, Celtics lost Ray Allen, and Orlando lost their franchise center. Knicks or Nets could possibly compete for a title, but I'm not betting on that. West has 3 title contenders in the Lakers, Thunder, and Spurs, and the West is way deeper.

Conclusion: West better by a long shot.

The Conference that is best to me is the Conference with the Chicago bulls on it. I love the chicago bulls. The bulls are my favorite team and they can beat anybody.

Looking at preseason basketball the Heat, Celtics, and Knicks have got deeper with players that will give their starters much needed breaks because these teams stars have been having injuries with no real good backups ready to play. I still think the west is better, but the East has gotten way better for the upcoming season.

I think the Eastern Conference is better because it has good teams like the Chicago Bulls and the Atlanta Hawks also the Miami Heat. My prediction for next year will be that the Western Conference will take over because the teams traded players a lot.

I'm a west coast fan myself. I'm still a fan of Lakers and Clippers though I live in Arizona now. I thought the Lakers were something when they got 3 major players in Howard, Nash, and Jamison but if they play in the regular season like they do in the preseason then the Clippers are going win the Pacific Division by a landslide. At least the Clippers have a bench that can win a game all by themselves: Eric Bledsoe, Lamar Odom, Grant Hill, Jamal Crawford, Ronny Turiaf, Willie Green (when Billups returns), Ryan Hollis, Matt Barnes and these are just the bench players I named.

I say the East because that conference has good teams like the Celtics and the heat

In the playoffs besides the Heat, The west. They have some interesting teams and stuff in the playoffs.
