INTRODUCTION: Jungle Hunt was released in August 1982 by Taito and the game was based on the arcade game called Jungle King. I checked the game out and I was impressed by the theme and how good the game looks. In nearly every level you see a scrolling technique called parallax scrolling which I have never seen in an Atari game! The gameplay is great, no bugs or glitches which is a surprise because I find at least a few glitches in Atari games. The controls are solid and responsive and that is great!

GRAPHICS: The game actually makes you feel like your in a jungle. So that means a lot of colors consist in this game. One thing that attracted me was the use of parallax scrolling. You will never see that in Atari 2600 titles, and there is not just 2 layers of scrolling there's like 4 or 5, that is impressive. There is a minor problem, when you swing from vine to vine. You'll see on some of the vines there are a bunch of random colors. You will probably ignore it though.

SOUND: The sound is impressive too. There a little tune in the beginning of some levels, plenty of action sounds. Plus the exiting beat of when you get to the cannibal level.

ADDICTIVENESS: You will be playing till you beat everything in the game. You might even play longer. Since there are 2 difficulty settings, beginners, average, and expert gamers will all find this game addicting.

STORY: A guy called Sir Dashly was having tea time with his wife. Then cannibals kidnapped his wife and they are planning to cock her up for their soup. Sir Dashly goes to the Jungle where the cannibals live. However the Jungle is a dangerous place Sir Dashly must swing vine to vine, swim across reptile river which is packed with crocodiles. After that he must dodge boulders on a landslide, then finally he must get past two guards to get to his wife can Sir Dashly get to his wife? It's up to you!

DEPTH: There are 4 unique, fun stages, and 2 difficulty settings. The programmer could have added some more game variations.

DIFFICULTY: The difficulty is perfect for gamers of all skill levels. The hardest levels are the boulder one and the cannibal one.
