I just wanted to know if anybody with DirecTV is pissed. Viacom wants more money, even though they're one of the biggest companies in the world. So now they've dropped some of the best channels like Nick and Comedy Central because DirecTV wouldn't charge their customers extra money.

It is the most annoying thing ever. Viacom is a greedy company only thinking about themselves. They took away my Nick Jr,  BET, and my MTV. I cant watch 16 and pregnant, Jersey Shore, or Octonauts. ( I don't watch any of those except Octonauts) It is soo stupid. I can't stand them.

Fortunately I don't watch that much TV, so it's not a big deal to me. Plus Netflix can tie me over until this whole thing is settled.

But I think the above post serves to remind us all that MTV is a terrible channel.

Viacom... Those greedy suckers.

At my country (Argentina), there was rumors of they doing the same thing here... Luckily, they decided to let those channels... However, I don't have DirecTV... So, I would not be worried about that...

That's sad. WEll, Viacom was being very greedy. DirecTV denied them millions(?) of dollars in a new contract and now they're cutting 23 channels. Most of them are popular channels. That's a negitive for DirecTV. That might make them lose customers. Luckily I'm not one.

This issue is like a fish flopping out of the water, both companies look horrible in the process.

I think DirecTV is stupid for letting Nickelodeon slipping considering it is the most watched cable network on DirecTV according to viacom. Then again, Viacom looks greedy in the process and fee increases for in my personal is mostly crappy programming.

Ultimately its DirecTV's fault for not valuing how much a program is worth. Are those channels worth the millions in increases? DirecTV doesn't think so.

This reminds me of Netflix fallout except backwards, funny thing is they are still loosing customers either way. Drop channels or charge more money for them... something has got to give. There really is no win win situation here.

Its both companies fault, direcTV though should be responsible as they are the cable provider and must do anything it takes to get those channels for their customers. Fee increases or dropping channels they will be loosing customers either way. Its not so much Viacoms fault its more direcTV's fault as they are the cable provider and have failed to secure an agreement to keep the channels. Plus its cable tv, that stuff is expensive but if you can afford it you can probably afford a fee increase for those channels.

Comedy Central took up 25% of my T.V. time. Now I have nothing to watch. :/
