Pac-Man for the Atari 2600 was released in 1982 and is partially responsible for the video game crash of 1983. The game sold 7 million copies making it the best selling Atari at the time. However shortly after the game was released sales dropped and many who owned the game returned it. I decided to start reviewing Atari games, I started with this game and I heard about the criticism of this game. Lets take a look at this disaster.

GRAPHICS:The graphics aren't bad, but the maze design is odd and looks nothing like the arcade version and this could have been done. Also the ghosts flicker an awful lot so when you can eat them you have a hard time knowing when to stop trying to eat them and before you know it you'll die! I have seen better graphics on the Atari.

SOUND: The sound is simple and I have to praise the fact that the annoying beeping in the background is not on this version which is great. The original tune that plays at
the start of the arcade version is also not in version. Instead I get couple beeps. The Atari is capable of producing this simple tune. However the time line the programmer had was very short.

ADDICTIVENESS: This game is not very addicting. For one reason each wafer counts as only one point so it's not to satisfying to gain points. Plus the maze never changes and there is no cut scene. So you'll feel like your playing a bad never ending game.

DEPTH: There is not much to offer just a maze and that's it. It would've been nice if the maze changed a little.

DIFFICULTY: Pac-Man for the Atari 2600 is difficult mainly because when you are trying to eat the ghosts you will have a hard time trying to time your attack.

Pac Man is awesome, no matter on what system it is on.

Atari 2600... My aunt had that one, when she still had hers. I played it, and I destroyed her high score. I had fun with that game.

And awesome review by the way.
