Even though there is an average of 5 to 10 new members that register here everyday, the record for number of members online at once is only 10 -- and that record was done almost a year ago. I think people are registering, but either don't want to activate the account or plain just forget about the site altogether.

you shoulda been on sunday lol there was like 10 to 15 new members that joined but i think they only joined for the Nes room lol. I even sent most of them private messages welcoming them to the forums and if they wanted to introduce theirself in the newbie forums I felt like the go to guy on sunday haha One of the new members even asked me in private message how i knew that person just joined and i said " it shows who is online from the vizzed board menu" but yea i hope this forum gets alot more active i joined on february 1st and im having a blast on here

i know what you mean vgfreak. many people just join for the roms or games and don't makea single post

Also 10% of the users that registered have not activated their account. During the last 24 hours alone, members that have visited the site, only 38 of the 86 people have actually made a post. While the 38 itself is impressive, the percentage is less than half. You got to find a way to keep more members online a once.

problem is, these people come from GYR and when you sign up and log in, there's a pm with the stuff they need to be a GYR member

Recently a majority of the people who sign up, just sign up for the NES game room (since they need to register to play more than 5 games in the room). Also, a lot of members sign up due get access to the members page on GYR.

Either way, even if only 10% of those people post, that's still good enough for me. If we could increase that percent any way, that'd be awesome, but 10% still is enough to keep this forum pretty active. And some of those members just signing up for the NES page come back I've noticed so hopefully even them who don't post may eventually post one day.

We've got over 100 active users in the past 30 days, about 2 months ago there was probably only around 25 active users in past 30 days so this has ultimately helped vizzed board for the best.

So the point is, don't worry, I know what I'm doing, I was able to get GYR to receive 3000+ unique visitors per a day in less than a year and using similar strategies I can get vizzed board to be at a similar point eventually.

well, I think that the people shouldn't get access to the games and shouldn't be given membership at GYR until they have, say, 5 posts, maybe?

If you would want to increase the number of people who actually *POST* you would need to rethink the layout of the board.. It was a good idea to make nes game rooms require Viz cause that means they need to post like at least once each game... "Some one should move this to like general chat, cause it isn't that crazy..."

Ill admit I joined up for the GYR section goodies but I kinda liked the board so I stuck around.

It is a go idea to stick around, if you like the board... But you should also tell your friends

but only tell people who are a good fit for the board. some people just weren't made to part of this board

I'm really curious Randy as to what you have planned.

Also, the NES Game Room has really helped activity. As you all may know, a person can play 5 NES games until they have to register and when registering, they get enough Viz to play 10 games and if they wanna play more, they gotta post to earn more Viz to purchase more games to play

I still think you should only give newcomers 50 free viz, because each post earns a new game

The only reason I joined the board was the free gbc games. And if I had to post before playing I probably would not have stuck around. I can be a bit antisocial.

I don't really care if the people post or not so long as they don't spam the board.
Sure it's nice if they do post, but I'd rather them not post at all if their just going to spam for points to play more games.
