Right now I have only a few ideas. One idea i have is making a funny comic strip using game screen shots. Or maybe Leggy can take a few generic screenshots to make a blank comic strip with no words provided under the pictures, and the contest is for us to make the best dialogue/monologue/comments/etc. to make the best comic out of his pictures.

I'm still brainstorming a couple of ideas, but I'll let you guys know.

Don't let this deter you from whatever your ideas are, but I'm definitely going to steer clear of anything RGR related. I feel like it's been done enough for now and something more creative/fun is in order. So that's what mine's going to be along the lines of. But, some more video game related ideas might make things better to even out our submissions? I dunno.

KG : You aren't the first person I have seen comment about wanting something that doesn't require them to play in the RGR. So maybe the caption contest would appeal to people. It is RGR related, but Leggy is the only one getting screenshots and we just make captions to make a story/comic out of it. I think that will be my idea.

Okay, my official idea is that the four teams have to see who can make the most posts in a period of time, but they have to be in forums that aren't the crazy house or video game craziness.

I'm not sure if anyone likes these suggestions, but I'll throw a few out there.

-Review any movie. Penalty points for spoilers.

-Make a popular thread. Ranked according to thread with most posts that have an average words per post over 40. No Crazy House, Polls and Questions, or Video Game Crazyness.

-Going forward, a little farther into the competition, predicting the gold medal countries in various events.

-Create a fake product. This one is my favorite. It would be clever, have a great slogon, improve quality of life, etc. Then the team would have to "sell" the product to leggy. It'd have to be convincing.

-Chess/lolcheckers tournament. Each team sends 2 players, total of eight players. Single elimination.

-Think of a skin/texture pack for the original Legend of Zelda, centered around a certain theme. You'd have to decide what Link looked like, what each of the enemies were, replace items. (No one would actually MAKE this, it would just be brainstorming/blueprinting)

I'm liking all the ideas so far! Be ready to pick the one you want to submit! When I got on later tonight if no one else has done it, I'll round up everybody's official submissions and send them in!

My idea would be something along these lines: (Forgive me if it seems somewhat obscure, I'm in a hurry)

It would be like a MacGuyver type situation. Leggy would make us each a predicament that we're in and give each member of each team some sort of item. Then, we'd have to use everyone's item and write our daring escape, involving every member and item of our team. Points would be deducted if you couldn't figure out how to incorporate someone and their item. It would also ensure team work, which seems to wax and wane as the days go by, haha. Anyway I think the idea would be funner if Legacy made each team it's own scenario and it's own items, but it could also work I s'pose if we were all in the same scenario with different items. It'd take a little creativity on Leggy's part to think of the places we're stuck or what we have to do or whatever, but I think it could be a lot of fun!

So that's my official submission. Sorry if it sucks.

My Idea is a combination of idea's basically.  I'd like to call it the Vizzed Camp Triathlon. This of course is an individual event. It will feature 3 events. (well what did you expect!)


This is so that all teams can compete, It's all mainly about pride and trying to prove you are the best. The three competition's would each last a day making this a 3 day activity points will be given from 1-10 for the position you came in. 10 points for first and then the points would decline by one so 10th would get 1 point. 




Events
1. Speed event. Using the time trail you have to get to a certain point in a game. This would have to be on a game with no scores so that everyone can just mark their score as 0 and put in the comments what team they are in e.G VC - mongooses. This way all the campers scores will be together.

2. Endurance Event. Try to get as far as possible in a game. This would basically mean that you have a day to get as far as possible in a game. Obviously it's endurance as you could be playing it for 12 hours straight etc. The main games for this would be RPG's. ALSO time trail would be mandatory to stop people loading previous saves. (as a side note this could be made into a post competition I just thought with the TDV being on it would cause so much spam)
3. Creativity Event. The most open event as it can be a lot of different things. Leggy simply says a sentence or a word and you have to base a story on that sentence, you could make a poem about it, or a layout, or a poster, etc.. BASICALLY BE CREATIVE.
Rewards
Even though most competitions would only have a top 3. I think it should be the top 5,
1st = 50 VC points
2nd = 40 VC points
3rd = 30 VC points
4th = 20 VC points
5th = 10 VC points
( I was going to perhaps suggest the points would be a slight bit higher due to it being 3 days. It's your choice leggy)
Other Ideas
Their could be a team competition. So the team that has the highest points added together gets a few extra points OR you could make it that the top 3 get points.
You could also give 5/10 VC points to the MVP of each event.

As much as I like the speed run ideas that have been brought up a few times, I don't think it will work. Remember that there is currently no speed run option in the Retro Game Room. The Time Trial Mode is meant to be for high scores only. You are only allowed to submit scores visible on the screenshot. So making a submission based on time would not work properly. It would have to worked out with the staff to delete all submissions after the competition was over. And you also need to think about the possibility of campers already having a high score on a game. They would have to overwrite their high score with the lower score they got on the speed-run. Not all the screenshots from submitted scores got backed up through transfers so they would have to sacrifice it forever. It just seems like too many hoops to jump through to make it work.

rcarter2 : then I have nothing to submit then, basically every angle has been covered. I was trying to make my idea unique. Instead of submitting the same thing as everyone else.  my only other suggestion is then to make the speed round something to do with racing games. Then you don't need to have the time trail mode.

sonicmcmuffin : I'm not trying to stomp on anyone's ideas I was just wanting to point out that unless all the RGR Staff was aware of this, any of them that noticed submitting times or no scores would cause a lot of work for them. Here is one idea though to fix that though. Leggy would have to find a game that has no high score submissions (or at least none made by one of the campers), and we all simply submit 0 as our score so all the campers scores are together, making them easy to find and easy for staff to delete (they won't have to look for them). If you add that to your idea, then there shouldn't be a problem. 

rcarter2 : I did think of that. But yes now that someone else has suggested it, I think it would be a good idea. You could also put what team you are in and VC in the comments.
