Hello, world.
I signed up because I was looking for disks 3 and 4 of FF8, and after I found them I saw a link saying "If you want more, sign up here!" So here I am. I make no guarantees about how long I'll stay...I'm rather notorious for showing up, posting once or twice, and leaving. (Or I would be notorious if I actually posted often or widely enough for people to notice me.) Apparently this forum is at least partially dedicated to flash development? Too bad that's not really my field, although I do have some (mostly forgotten) experience with Visual Basic and C++, a little experience with HTML, and even less with CSS.
About me: I guess it would be fair to call me a jack-of-many-trades, master of few-or-none, depending on what qualifies as "mastery". I'm a bit of a nerd or a geek or both, depending on which set of definitions you prefer. I enjoy some of both video games and anime, and I've gradually become a bit of a subbed snob. My skin is very pale; I sunburn very easily and consequently spend most of my time indoors. For three years I attended a college that required all students to take four semesters of a class that taught sophistry (although that isn't what it claimed to be), and I took all four classes. I had to drop out after the third year because of health problems and haven't been able to finish school due to lack of finances. I go to Friday Night Magic at a store less than a mile from my home on a semi-regular basis. I strongly self-identify as Orthodox Christian. I am also somewhat verbose, as if you couldn't tell by now. And I currently struggle with a bit of insomnia, which is why my first post was at 4:30 AM local time. Anything else I should say?
I do have a couple questions...Right after my first post in the Debate forum, I had a Thumbs rating of 0, and this afternoon it had changed to -1. I looked around but couldn't find any description of Thumbs. Should I be concerned? Secondly, when I stuck my head in the Christianity sub-board, I noticed that many of the threads on the top page are quite old, some from '05. What is the policy on posting to old threads? I wasn't clear when reading the FAQ.
Thanks.
