There are a few similarities of George Lucas' Star Wars and World War II and the Hitler regime. I'm going to name a few and see where it goes on from there. One of the most obvious similarities are the storm troopers. In World War II, storm troopers were Hitler's most elite and feared soldiers/bodyguards that were used in the Eastern campaign and provided over watch at concentration camps. Storm troopers in Star Wars were the empires most revered infantrymen armed to the teeth with superior weaponry and plastic armor. xD plastic armor. Which brings me to the next similarity, Germany and the empire's superior technology. Death star, such a wonderful piece of artillery. Yet it was used only a few times before being destroyed which is coincidentally iconic to Germany's V2 rockets and fighter jets. Yes, Germany were the first to use actual fighter jets in combat. However, only a small number of jets were manufactured and used since it was practically suicide stepping inside one. V2 rockets were essentially cruise missiles that could level towns and small cities. One of Hitler's mistakes was not funding the scientists enough to equip these rockets with the newly discovered atomic formula. Although the U.S. was the first to use the atomic bomb, they were not the first to discover it. The death star could have easily been Hitler's atomic bomb but Hitler's reign soon came to a collapse before he could unleash its overwhelming power. Hitler and Anakin Skywalker (later becomes Darth Vader) are very similar as well. Both Adolf and Anakin lost their mothers at a very young age. Not to mention Adolf's father was a drunk. Anakin's turn to the dark side is relative to Hitler's fail at art school and joining the military during World War I. During World War I, Hitler became familiar with death and destruction hence turning him to the "dark side." In a way I could also simulate how both Hitler and Anakin were crazy but that would just be confusing and morally wrong. These are just a few similarities whether George Lucas meant to portray them or not. Feel free to comment and suggest changes at will. Thank you, your time and thoughts are appreciated.

It has been well-documented that Lucas used Nazi Germany and WWII as one of several themes and motifs upon which he based Star Wars.  He said so himself.

Actualy the v2 was not that great, the damage was limited and you were lucky if you could be as precise as 5 miles around the target, it was a fear weapon really.
I always hummed the imperial march in history class at the mention of stormtroopers, it gets a few laughs.
Although in starwars stormtroopers arent the elite units, theyre the basic infantry. In germany they were more like secret police soldiers.
The emperor is actualy a human supremicist which pairs with hitlers 'aryan race'.
Its not uncomon for people to draw on ww2 for storys.

thenumberone : thank you for acknowleding and proving most of my points. I wasn't really comparing the death star and the v2 rocket equally, only that both sides had some sort of superior technology. thank you.
