Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars is what I have described to be the best game ever devised by any Nintendo affiliated company or Nintendo itself. Hands down, this is my number 1 choice of any video game of any console. You might think I'm crazy, but I promise you, I'm not. Mario is off to another adventure in this game to save Mushroom Kingdom from impending doom. Incorporating the old fashioned style gaming into new ideas brought forth a whole new world of Mario, the role playing side. Incredibly, Mario worked out astonishingly well in this genre and style.

Mario RPG brings out a whole new game with awesome enemies, new twisted story, great new friends, fresh new levels and another incredibly well orchestrated series of music. The world of Mario RPG will not bring you disappointment. It is purely fun, exciting and keeps you coming back no matter how well you have memorized this game!! I guarantee this.

Overall: 10
Masterpiece. The quality of this SNES game is a cut above the rest and you will quickly find yourself loving almost every aspect of this fine tailored video game. Many gamers asked Nintendo to create a Mario RPG 2 because the game was such a success. A game like this should represent  what gamers were looking  for. Some of the newer games "Mario Superstar Saga" began their debut as the expansion to this genre. That was Nintendo's answer to an expansion for what was a remarkable game. I was somewhat disappointed in Nintendo, but never disappointed in this game. I will die, one day, knowing this game was seriously the best in my list.

Graphics: 10
You will never be disappointed with these graphics. The sprites are crystal clear, spells have awesome animations and ideally, this game was the picture perfect health of the SNES console. This role playing game seriously rose the limits and capabilities of the SNES beyond every game sprung forth. I still love these graphics over Call of Duty and Halo, even today. Even in comparison to Mario Galaxy of the Wii, Mario RPG trumps that even in graphics. The 3-D isometric look was originally intended for the Nintendo 64, but it was accelerated for use and test with the SNES. This may be a key factor in the overall quality and presentation of the game, but it prevails regardless.

Sounds: 10
If you're not addicted to the game itself you're probably addicted to the music and sounds. Let's begin with the opening itself. The opening to this game is very unforgettable. The way the music was composed tells a story basically going through the game in order of what happens but not with exact details or indicating anything in particular. This isn't even the most popular song but it does grab your attention and get you amped up and ready to play!

One of the most popular songs is actually a remix for this game! The music itself is very attractive to the game itself and works very well, hand in hand with the level design. The overall sounds, these too work flawlessly. Boss songs are also pretty enjoyable. In my opinion, they really bring out the bosses in the game, You can't go wrong when listening to this game's music or sounds, they're really perfect for the game.

Addictiveness: 10
I have played this game 1000s of times. I have fully won this game 100s of times. Please define "addiction" for me because yes I am hooked. I love this game so much that I am even working on making a straight up more difficult version using the Lazy Shell program and maybe even upload the upgrade to Vizzed. You can easily get hooked into this game and play it many times later down the road. I just so happened to have the pleasure of playing this as a child when it first came out. This was what defined a large part of what I loved in a game at the time. Absolutely nothing wrong with getting hooked on to this game, it's like cocaine for the eyes and ears.

Story: 9
Brilliant story to say the least. You assume the role of Mario, who is obviously the main character of the game. You venture around Mario's world fighting monsters and uncovering the truth as to what happens early in the game. Of course, Princess Peach gets kidnapped and it's Mario's job to save the day. The story itself is rather simple and easy to follow. The events circling the story also piece together very nicely. You can't go wrong. Brilliant story that easily works with what was brought to the table in this game.

Depth: 6
There was not too much depth to this game. The game itself was obviously HUGE but it's very straight forward and with a single path. There are several mini games and side quests you can do to obtain all the items of the game. Mario RPG uses a similar combat system to Final Fantasy, however, it is completely turn based. The magic is very 2-D with very little complexity in the sense that the game was built without utilizing status effects as much as should. The overall lay out of the monsters is repetitive and disallows much depth, aside from the size of the game itself.

Difficulty: 5
Not a difficult game. It is easy to level up an extra level earning yourself enough stats to get through the area you're at with armor that minimizes the damage you take by a lot. The layout of your spells easily allows recovery. Healing items are genuinely inexpensive and sometimes there's absolutely no need for any items at all. In some parts of the game, the enemies who KO someone from your team are generally lucky. The AI can have moments of strength, but overall, their moments of weakness clearly out number any and all strengths. This would be my only gripe with this game is that it is too easy. In this sense, you can breeze through the game with no trouble at all.

Ending:
Overall, this is a truly fascinating and wonderful game. If you've never played Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, please do. You will enjoy this style of Mario game play. This is definitely a game to remember and participate in. Wonder if there will be a contest created for this game. Would really be cool if there was hint hint!

Key Things:
For me, there are several key things that keep me coming back to this game. The most addicting thing, to me, is simply the music. Every boss song is epic. The first battle with Bowser has an epic song, the bosses have an epic song, Culex has the epic Final Fantasy song and Smithy has an epic song. Sometimes, I simply play the game to listen to these because they're really unique in the world of Mario.

Another key component is the number of mini games. You can play with the game boy, Yoshi's race, Moleville Thumper game, Booster's Hill, Grate Guy's Casino and more. You can be easily entertained just by competing for your high score.

A key thing that I dislike about the game is just how short it really is after playing it for so long. I can easily breeze through the game with no trouble and collect 30+ hidden treasures with no effort. I always desired some definable challenge from the original game.

I vaguely remember playing this game. I think it was at my friends house long ago when I was around 5. It was a pretty cool game at the time.

The first time I played this game, I was about 6 or 7 years old. I couldn't understand the point of this game at first until I played it a little more. As I got into the game I then realized that it was another RPG with some adventure mixed into it.

I collected 2 star pieces so far. The enemies I'm fighting right now are much stronger than the others. I literally love playing this game almost all the time everyday. I think a lot of other people would too because this game is so awesome. Who wouldn't want to play this game? Only people who don't know about it wouldn't play it.

I agree. Mario RPG is my top most favorite game of all-time. I've been (slowly) working on a "Hard mode" version of the game without micromanaging every detail. I'd really like to upload the final product to Vizzed if I were to ever find enough time and knowledge to complete it. I think it could twist the original game and provide a semi decent challenge to gamers.
