I've noticed that Ron Paul is still in the 2012 primary race even though he hasn't won any states. What do people think of this? Is he crazy for it, or does he stand a valid chance of at least shaping the party platform?

First off I'll let you all know I do not like the current republican party.

I will say that my choice of Ron Paul not making it is not based on that. If he has yet to win any states then I highly doubt he has a chance. He most likely is probably in the denial stage when it comes to realizing he loosing and loosing badly.

Ron Paul is the best candidate the Republicans have.

That said, no. He doesn't have a chance in hell.

People gravitate to the people who they hear about, and most people hear about Mitt Romney.

It will be Mitt Romney versus Barack Obama, and I'm just guessing Obama wins.

Yay not voting.

Although I want him to win I can't see it happening. I personally hate these primaries and pre-election polls because they make people vote on things other than the platform's the candidates are running on. I mean people who don't want Romney to win will vote for Gingrich just because he has the best chance of beating him not necessarily because they like his platform more. Also like Legacyme mentioned, people will vote for people just because they hear their names everyday.

Ron Paul is interesting. When he ran four years ago I was like "okay... different" but now that I have heard some of his stances on things, I think he is scary... but since all of the Republican candidates this years seem to be extremely anti-women in their stances, I wouldn't vote for any of them if you paid me a million dollars.

That said, like Legacy mentioned, people are sheep and will vote for the names they hear over and over again. Romney has poured millions into ads to make sure he is the name they hear. Also, technically Paul is still considered a third party candidate since he has a long running identification with the Libertarian party, and that kinda keeps the mainstream Republicans from really getting behind him (which is why a party system is stupid and we shouldn't have one).

No, Ron Paul has no chance of winning this year's election. Sorry to say, but it is true. I also heard that if elected president, Ron Paul would legalize marijuana for "medical" purposes?... Right. And Ron Paul is pretty much out of the race, and out of his league. It's going to come down to Mitt Romney, and Barrack Obama. Barrack Obama 2010-2014!!! Woo! I don't really like politics that much, but I do stand strong on what I have said in this post. Good day to you, sir.
