So after Ibock mentioned that he saved 50% of all the money he earned I came up with the idea to ask the board how you well... Handle your money in general.

I personally have no set budget/saving or similar set on me but in general it's like this:

  1. Pockets: I always keep 20-30 dollars here if i ever need anything quick to chew/eat/drink whilst in the city (And yeah I only leave my room for school but I want cola on breaks sometimes). It's also good for lending people money (With interest of course).

  2. Spendings account: All earned money goes straight here, and I pretty much spend it however I feel like spending it at the moment, the only real rules I have set is keeping maybe 700 dollars in cause of well... Anything really.

  3. Savings account: If i for some dumb reason get 2000 dollars or more all of a sudden then a part of it goes here for future use (And you Americans and your economy is messing with my interest rates >8( ).

  4. Stocks: Yeah, I have stocks that makes me cool and stuff (Of course they are sinking like bricks because of the economy ).

Note: No I don't count in dollars, and yes the values are estimates.

THAT sounds like my cue! :3

I figure if there are no straining financial problems (bills, mortgage, car, etc.), then just cut it straight in the middle. Take a half of the money earned, and reward yourself, and be financially wise and store 50% of it in a type of bank account, like a 6 or 12-month CD, for example; if said money is definitely not needed, then when the 6 or 12-month CD has reached its maturity date, roll it over into another CD of 6 to 12 months. It has much higher interest than a regular account because the bank knows you're not allowed to touch it.

I'm more than likely going to save up a ton of money in a CD so it gathers interest.

Eh, you won't make too much in a CD (unless you put a whole whole lot). Plus you don't really want it to auto rollover because you could end up needing it in 6 months You can always put it back in, but if you auto rollover you can't get it out easily.

Yeah, but I live with my parents X_X I'm going to be living with them while I am in my first year or so of college, too, plus I have a 4-year grant for college and that means I won't NEED money, except for textbooks.

Yeah---no. After the 4 years I'm taking another SAT-like test to try to get a masters degree in writing, then another test later on to get a doctorate.

The 4 years will remove a lot of debt but I will definitely be in debt by the time I leave school, because I'll be in school for like 8-12 years.
