Well surprisingly, this is something I fixed on my own

Apparently the table which is responsible for containing all the content of the posts had crashed (god knows how) so I repaired it. It only took me 4 hours to figure out that was the problem


EDIT: Come to think of it, it might've crashed when godaddy closed down my server. They closed down my server because I exceeded the disc space limit. I called them and asked them about it and they told me that and gave me 24 hours to free up disk space. The disk spaced was being used up from 8+ GB worth of log files which I had to clear from the server.

How do log files get to be over 8 GB? I have 5 GB of space on my server and I haven't even used 5% of that. How long have you been using this same server?

I've been using the server for a little more than a year. Well some of the files on Vizzed.com are used elsewhere. For example, the MP3's which load dynamically into Vizzed Flash Bash are hosted on Vizzed and since Vizzed Flash Bash is on more than 100 sites, every time a user plays the game, each of the MP3's is loaded and the log files give me stats on each person that loads the MP3s...that's just 1 example. Also regarding those MP3's, I noticed that between them 6 MP3's, I've had 160+ GB worth of bandwidth used so far this month because of those MP3's being loaded. I concluded that throughout all the sites that VFB is on, the game has been played about 50,000+ times so far this month, since I'm able to figure out that information based on statistics.

The log files are pretty detailed, every single hit is recorded apparently with full details of IP, browser, referal, etc. And if all the files on vizzed got 5 million hits total since last year, that's a lot of logs. Anyways, I made it so that the log files are less detailed and I've also got them to compress themselves now.

Oh wow David, I didn't realize that it was that extensive. I imagine the bill for bandwidth alone must run you a pretty penny.

I pay about $40 a month for the Vizzed server. I also host a few other sites besides just Vizzed Board, some of those other sites are my own, others are not. And not to mention all the files which are hosted on Vizzed. So yeah, bandwidth this month might get near 300 GB But thankfully my limit is 500 GB.
