Super Mario Land is a great game to play when you are bored or need to speed up time. This game is pretty different from other Mario games and after reading this review you will hopefully see why. In Super Mario Land there are 4 Power Ups. The mushroom, fire flower, star and heart (1-Up). The mushroom allows you to grow bigger and when you break item blocks you would get a fire flower. The fire flowers act different in this game. First of all I think their sprite is a Koopa shell so I will call them Koopa flowers! Secondly, the Koopa flowers bounce around on the floor and walls. The star is a good power up but it doesn't last long so you have to be quick! When you run into enemies they will die instantly!  The star is hard to find but it is in the First level. The heart is A 1-Up and it gives you an extra life. I think I know why they didn't make 1-Up mushrooms; there is no colour and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a normal mushroom or a 1-Up mushroom. There are a lot of enemies but I will only list Two because I don't want to spoil this great game. The Goomba is the same in this game and they are still the weakest enemy. Touching them whilst holding the mushroom or Koopa flower power up will revert you to tiny Mario!  The Koopa is slightly different in this One. When jumping on them they hide in their shell like normal but I suggest getting away as fast as you can because they EXPLODE! Hitting them with the star or Koopa flower power up will kill them instantly without the explosions. 

Graphics - I give the Graphics a Seven. They are very good in detail but I did notice some laziness. These aren't huge problems and both are probably there because of the amount of space the game boy could handle. First of all, when a sprite has White in it, ( The Goomba eyes) when it goes behind a tree, for example, the white will change to whatever colour it is in front of. The other thing I noticed was that the fire balls had the same sprite as Koopa shells! Hence why I call them Koopa flowers. Anyway, this isn't a problem and I actually found it a bit funny, Mario doesn't have a hat! I like to think that Mario is on a quest to get his hat back from Daisy. 

Sound - The music in this game is very catchy and very Good! I give it a 9! My favourite track is the Kung Fu Land One. Da da da la la la da DA!  The music fits very well for each level. Also this makes the game more enjoyable for the player!

Addictiveness - This game is very fun to play which makes it very addicting! I give it a Ten! This game may be short but trying to get a higher score than your friend's makes it really fun!

Story - Well, it's a Mario game. Expecting a good story is kinda weird because Mario doesn't even NEED One. I give it a Four. The story is about Daisy getting kidnapped by someone who isn't Bowser but... I have no idea but it's your task to save her! I like to think that the game is about Mario trying to get his hat back from Daisy because it makes the game more funny for me.

Depth - This game isn't very long but I don't think it was made to be a very long game. I give it a Six. I say that it isn't supposed to be long because this game is played to pass the time.

Difficulty - I am terrible at games so this game is hard for me. Like most are. I give it an Eight. This game is pretty hard because it adds many new twists like Koopa shells exploding and fire balls bouncing off things which makes them hard to aim.

Overall I find this game really good to play to speed up time or try to beat your friend's high scores!

Mario Land is what you would call a great classic for the Gameboy, it had everything you loved about the original Super Mario Bros... except Luigi, Bowser, Peach, and The Mushroom Kingdom. Its different, but we all enjoyed it.

Maybe if you got rid of the capitalization of every word, it would be a bit more legible, but it's a good review never the less. Keep it up.

I remember and cherish this game, I really did enjoy it.
