Has someone ever done/said something that made you feel special?


For me, it was about a month ago. I was talking to a girl on this website who was troubled because her boyfriend had cheated on her and left her.

Before she left the chat room, she told me this: "If everyone in the world were like you, this world would be a way better place."

I had no time to return any compliments, or even say thank you. I haven't talked to her since then.

I've had many compliments, but none like that. I just hope I helped her.

I've had a few moments like that, but I think the biggest one came a few weeks ago at my work. A little old lady had been blocked in by another car and I kept her company for an hour until the other driver came out of the store (I was already off work), the guy got in her face and I stuck up for her and just told the guy over and over again to please just move his car. Eventually he left, and the lady gave me a big hug and thanked me. A week later, my department head handed me an envelope that had been left for me containing a thank you card and $15 for "lunch money".

I've gotten several compliments from people for being helpful, and several "thank you"s... but that whole experience touched me the most.

People I've helped, whether it be in homework, projects, life, anything.

It's such a good feeling

Recently I was being tutored in math class because I had to represent my school in a competition and missed out for a week. The girl tutoring me is one of my newer friends and we were joking around for a while. I don't feel anything towards her or anything like that but I've never really spoken much about myself to anyone, I'm usually the guy with all the answers and the "listener".

The fact that she listened to the little things I wanted to say and knew how to respond made me feel a bit special. Not even my family would do that!

My fiancee makes me feel special pretty much everyday. Even if she gets absolutely pissed at me, I never even question how she feels about me overall. She puts up with a lot of annoying crap with me, and that is great.

My girlfriend is really great at making me feel good about myself. I guess that's one of the things I love about her! I know it's sappy, but it's true!

I've only ever felt really special a few times in my life. For me, its whenever someone asks for help, whether it be for someone to listen to them, or for advice; if I can help, I feel great, and even if I can't, I still try. I had a friend a few years ago that was contemplating suicide, I stuck by her for weeks until she no longer felt that way, but then she disappeared. I lost contact with her for two years, and had no idea what had happened to her until she e-mailed me, thanking me for helping her through that rough time in her life. That not only made my day, it made everything completely worth it. Guess we never know what we are capable of doing, and even if we don't feel like we're doing anything, sometimes we actually are. I've felt great for helping people in the past, but helping someone to feel better about themselves when they are unsure of what they are is the best feeling in the world.

My fiance makes me feel special, constantly. He is one of the few people I've met who understands me on a deeply personal level. He praises me all the time and he loves me for who I am. He recognizes all of my good qualities. Nobody has ever made me feel so appreciated, so cared for, or understood me so well.

If i can be perfectly honest. No one has ever made me feel special.

It is mainly due to my personality i think, I'm sarcastic, negative, stubborn and depressing, I prefer to be alone than be in the company of others. Plus the fact i don't have that many redeeming qualities about as it is.

I know that I'll find someone someday that actually understands me, but until that day comes I'll stick to being a loner

Yes, This girl made me feel like I could do anything, but sadly she left me. We were in love but, she just fell out of love. Still to this day I will date nor love no other girl in my life. I miss her so much and I love her as if she was my wife.

My girlfriend has a habit of making me feel special with all sorts of little things. The one that made me feel best though was recently, we were just kinda talking about our plans for the future; we're both really serious about the relationship and have been through a lot together in the past year, and we're definitely considering a future together. But anyways, recently we were talking about our hopes and plans and all, and the topic of kids came up, and she told me that I'll make an amazing father. It's honestly the best compliment anyone's ever given me.

Yes, I've felt special all the time, whether I make someone laugh when they are sad/happy/anytime(My Thing Bruh)
Or if I'm just talking to someone to make them feel better. I had one friend on a GREAT game called MapleStory called DoloSaur(Dolores) And I used to try to make her feel better. We were great friends . And she also always made me feel special by helping me out in various ways.

I felt so special just yesterday : ) just by hanging out with someone I haven't been able to see myself being without no matter what, not romantically tho I hope some day but just as a friend that I know to constantly be there when I need him to listen to my problems or my joys

Not very often. I wish somebody would make be feel special. I am going to see my aunt, grandma and grandpa that I have not seen in over 5 years this Thursday til Sunday, so I know I feel special then. Time for the 18 year old grandson to get spoiled. jk.

Well I had a boyfriend in 12th grade. We had lots of our classes and free time together. In history class we would pair up to do our daily magazine reading and sit together when the teacher showed movies. (Yeah 12th grade history was kinda a slacking class not much learning). In english class when we had poetry all of his poetry was for me. Instead of lame old senior prom he took me out to an anime convention for a weekend. He also saved me from a sand pit trap that he had in his back yard training grounds. Him, me, and some friends were trying to rescue his little cousin who ran off and fell into the creek which was heading towards the waterfall. But me and two of our friends got stuck in a sand pit trap. He then got some of his sister's cloths and helped me sneak in the back to get into the shower room.


Another guy I had was when I was in college he was the brother of my female friend's fiance. He was gay but he needed a girl friend to make sure his brother didn't know. So out of all the girls he could of picked he chose me. He would sing me songs on his guitar, give me gifts every friday and take me out on dates every weekend. Funny thing is he never got himself a boyfriend when I was around. I think he really liked me~ Though he did try to date other guys but it never worked out. Also all the other girls were jealous of me.

I think my favourite thing was when he got me a bunch of 6 red roses, when we were together for 6 months. They're my favourite flower and it was so thoughtful of him, I almost cried.

My boyfriend makes me feel special because whereas pretty much everybody else ignores me...  he actually wants to spend time with me and he tells me that I'm cute and pretty... and I feel good. But it's strange for me because I've never had this sort of thing, not really anyhow. It causes trouble sometimes though because that lack of having anybody for the majority of my life vs. being screwed with by everybody around made me prefer being alone. So sometimes the attention gets to be too much for me to tolerate. 

My bf makes me feel special all the time. He does so many things for me that I'm very much grateful for. I someday wish to repay him for giving me a place to stay, food when I was in dire need and money in the most important situations. Most of all he gives me the only thing I could want from the guy, his love and affection always makes my day especially if I was feeling down at some point. He is the best of the best.
