Ah... Honestly, it's one teacher policy I can do without.

One person doesn't do homework, whole class gets a bit of extra with a side of complaints.

One person wants to stay in their uniform, decide to go out in public, eat at a restaurant and use all kinds of obscene language.... One person calls up the school and the entire population of that grade is in trouble and must be talked down to.

I understand for some reasons that it has to be done but... there are just the most stupid cases to get caught up in and everyone has to make up for one stupid mistake.

So has anyone gotten into that sort of trouble before where everyone else gets in trouble for one's behavior?

Luckily I have never had to experience that in classes like that. One thing I saw in your post is when you said one person doesn't do their homework so there is extra for everyone? How old is your teacher? That is an old method. A proper college teacher program specifically tells you to not use homework as a punishment for any reason. That makes kids see homework as a bad thing, which is the last thing you want to have happen.

Schoolwise I never had that issue... nor have I heard of that issue.

That happened once (homework). Some important person's kid was in the class, and the teacher apparently got an earful for using 'old impractical methods'. The extra homework went away and it didn't happen anymore. :/ Town politics... My hometown is so politically corrupt, it's pitiful.

When I was in middle school, the principle got mad that some kids kept throwing thrash on the floor. So instead of trying to catch who ever they were, the school decided to give the entire 7th grade lunch detention instead.

I'm a tad bit surprised some people haven't experienced this before. But then again... it may depend on the teacher or class that you're in. It doesn't have to be so much as receive punishment because everyone else did something, it's sometimes ONE person or a few people to get everyone punished.

It's not the best method of punishment for two reasons.

One, everyone not involved would later hate that particular teacher/class/school.
Two, it can breed hatred toward the person or party responsible. (Let's face it, no one wishes to tell the faculty because of fear of being a tattler, or "sticking up for your friends".)
