My brother is playing Mario rpg for the super nes and it keeps messing up every time  he goes to equip armor and weapons just equipping he freezes on him and I am not sure why I have not really played it but he is and he is getting upset and did not know were to ask so I am for him

Is he near the part where you fight Johnathan 'Johnny' Jones in the Sunken Ship or the Axem Rangers on The Blade? If that is where he is, I have a solution. It is actually a very common thing for users, but there is a way around it. (if that is where the issue is happening)
