Vizzed was down because the OS on the server somehow got corrupt. Here's what Godaddy told me:


"It appears the OS has become corrupt on the server and we were unable to repair it with a File System Check. The old drives are being pulled so we can reprovision the server and restore your content.

The issue is being handled with the highest priority. However, depending on the amount of content that needs to be restored, it may be 24 hours before all sites will be back up and functional"


Anyways, the site is up now and should be running fine. As far as I know, no files were lost.

I was playing Pokemon Flora Sky, but when i loaded the game my save file wasn't there and it said the battery had run dry so there will be no clock based events. I don't know if this is a result of Vizzed being down though.

sharingan12 : Don't worry that's just a problem with most emulators it doesnt effect it much

Some of the pokemon games I usually play works. My save file for the games that I played today or in the last couple of minutes work and are there. Pokemon Firered is a bit laggy, but I am unsure if it is my internet connection or if there is too many people here that is making the site lagging a bit. I'm not one to put it against anyone. 

Interesting... So Vizzed isn't on a dedicated server? I guess that explains why it can at times be excruciatingly slow... Perhaps this may be a good time to upgrade? Judging by what the front page says you already spend, a dedicated server shouldn't be TOO much more expensive.

I'm expecting this site is going to have another problem since there always something going on here.

Dang, the entire server went down and I missed it anyway.

Lazlo Falconi : Who ever said Vizzed isn't on a dedicated server? There's 3 dedicated servers that handle vizzed which explains why the server fees are $1000+ a month.

Hey, I just joined not too long ago.  I was playing Pokémon red through the Java emulator.  When I try to save or load a game, the controls freeze up and I'm unable to play.  I not sure if this has something to do with the server crash but was wondering if I could get some help/advice.

Davideo7 : That's a lot of money.  Do you have a job besides the vizzed site?  If you don't make enough donations per month that's a heavy cost out of your own wallet   How do you do it?

ZeldaKidnapsGanon : No I don't, I invest 40+ hours into vizzed a week. The ads usually pay for the server costs.

I'm glad to see that the site is back up, I was gone on a weekend long field trip and came back and the site was down for 2 days, I was really worried there.

Recently I have been unable to save my progress on any of the games I play.  The emulator does not recognize when I am logged in, and says that I am not logged in (repetitive sentence ftw).  I realize others have been posting about this issue, but I figure that I could help spread the word to help all of us

showado3 : What internet browser are you using? And does your play window display ads to the left?

Oh I guess I read that wrong, the way the GoDaddy statement was worded made it seem to me that other sites were sharing the same server as Vizzed, and quite a few sites went down at the same time. I guess it was probably an attack on GoDaddy's DNS then that tore things up.

I use Internet explorer, though I will try it on chrome to see if it works! Did not think of that before!  And, yes it does display the ads.

Lazlo Falconi : Actually I think it was the Plugin. The new plugin will be less strenuous on the server. Last weekend we got insane amounts of traffic.

Ok,so how come now when I start a game all the controls don't work?I even tried restoring the buttons to defaults and it still  didn't work!PLZ HELP SOME ONE!!!!!!!!!

I've said this multiple times on several places... but maybe it's time to change hosts...?

Because GoDaddy has been a bit of a problem lately. And they also supported SOPA/PIPA, which Vizzed is technically against.

legacyme3 : If you can find a host that offers all the things I need in a host and has prices just as good as godaddy, I'll change hosts. I've spent many hours searching for a host and haven't found anything.

I'm pretty sure we can find something better than GoDaddy for what you need. Just give me the stuff you need and I'll run a search myself.

legacyme3 : Here's 5 reasons why I use Godaddy, I have yet to find a host that qualifies for all of these:

1. Affordable prices - haven't found any other host nearly as cheap (and that's important since the server fees are already high)
2. Hardware Firewalls - to help prevent DoS attacks
3. Managed Server Play - Godaddy manages my main server which is a linux server and I have 0 experience with linux machines or linux servers so it's nice to have them configure stuff for me and take care of other security related things
4. They're the biggest in the world - it's important to have a host that's big and not likely to go out of business, I'd hate to be stuck with a host that could go out of business and than lose my site and files
5. Since they're big, they're also one of the most trustworthy hosts in the world and they have incredible security

Lazlo Falconi : The DB server is on a windows server, the main site is on a linux server.

A lot of games run weird. Before, it did not. I do not know why. 
It is very weird.

CarBitGTSaxen : What exactly do you mean by weird? What is happening? Is it lag issues, loading issues, etc? Might be able to help out better if you specify what is going on.

The sound and movement of the games are bad.I find it difficult to explain.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced For GBA using RGR plug in it won't save. I have old saved files I can pull from, but I can't save anything new, regardless of where I save the new file. The emulator only says Starting emulator GBA' at the bottom where the upload/download to server complete message would normally appear. This is in both with and without chat box.

Question: When is the contest coming up? It march 6...... and you said either Monday or Tuesday, and today is Tuesday.

I think that all the emulator on Vizzed run bad: The sound are bad, animations, speed, it make impossible to play games. It do it on my Windows 7 and the others Windows XP computers. I have tested, I have the last plug in of Vizzed, I think I have the last version of java, but the games and the emulators run really bad. 

Java emulators run very bad: Bad animations, sound, more slow, bugs, and more. I love to play Java emulators, so it is bad for me.


Please someone must tell me. I love really Vizzed.

CarBitGTSaxen : Try downloading the RGR Plugin. That may run a bit faster, also make sure you have the latest version of the Java Runtime Environment.

CarBitGTSaxen : I've been having all of that recently, I don't know why but minimizing the browser while leaving the game window open fixes it.

So I'm not sure exactly where to post this, but I was playing Pokémon Crystal World earlier, and it was working fine. Now, when I try to play, it keeps saying "error: failed to download config."

Any idea what's going on/how to fix it?

Attila the Hun : this is happening to a lot of people, myself included. For me, if I get it and hit the reset button (or do it a few times), it eventually works. Sometimes I have to close the window, open it again, and then hit reset again if it still isn't working. But they eventually work when I keep reloading it.

Hmmmmmm, doesn't seem to be working. :/

I think I'll just wait till tomorrow. That seems to solve most of my problems. Thanks so much for the help, though!
