Personally, I find Twitter and Facebook pretty useless. Where's the fun on posting what are you doing right now?

Any Thoughts?   

You don't necessarily have to post what you're doing right now, It could be anything. For me, Facebook is basically a forum where I can talk about basically any topic with my friends (OR with strangers on pages, notes and events). I share photos, artwork, interesting links, discuss politics, religion, human rights, promote products or services, ask for advice, announce things to my family, plan parties, and so on. It's not just mindless blabber like "I just ate a cookie!"... Far from it.

On Facebook I have met some of my closest online friends, some of which I talk to every day and we even send real mail to each other. I also met all of my activist friends that organize protests that I go to through Facebook. I also found employment via Facebook, as well as all of my photographers. Probably the most important is that I met my fiance on Facebook.

Needless to say, my life would be VERY different without it.

I don't know if Facebook is *addicting*, or if my social life is simply really important to me. I don't like to go more than a day without checking it. Maybe I am psychologically addicted to being social and having friends. In which case I wouldn't be bothered. Because if it wasn't Facebook, it would be another social site. If social sites didn't exist, I'd be using e-mail. If it wasn't e-mail, it would be texting and calling people. I just like to post on forums and talk with all of my friends.

Personally I don't like Twitter because the space for writing is much too small, although it is good for sharing links.

Some people just post anything, i dislike a great many people for it, it gets annoying. As for twiter i wont go near, pointless.

I do not have a Twitter account. I got a Facebook account first and have not had a need for any other social network sites (unless Vizzed can be categorized as one). I can see how Twitter can a bit more addicting than cigarettes. Twitter is something people use to share their thoughts (and sometimes vent their frustrations); oh the vanity it could make. Cigarettes create a physical addiction to nicotine. The latter can be broken, but the former can be more difficult. Sometimes people end up hanging on your every word. Some people cannot get enough of the celebrity --similar to being popular in high school.

That's something you don't hear often, but yeah, the internet is addicting itself, but now Twitter is more addicting than the most addicting thing in the world? That's scary. I'm glad I don't care for Twitter

It's not Twitter that I find addicting, but Vizzed.

With that said, it is true that sites like these are addicting. Maybe not in the same respect as cigarettes or alcohol, but they're essentially the same; you keep coming back. Even I have to take some control over how much time I spend on Vizzed.

LOL, possibly so. I don't even go onto Twitter, so I wouldn't really even know.

I do have a facebook, but it's never seemed to grab me in. I mean, I'll go in when necessary or once in a while, but even though there are a lot of interesting things that my friends post, I just don't feel like going on. I'm not willing to take that risk with Twitter though. Last thing I need is more Vizzed time to be sucked up xD. Yeah, I'm addicted to Vizzed, but I can't let other addictions interfere with this one.

I don't see the appeal. Honestly, it comes off as really annoying.

Yes, it is addicting.  I have a Twitter, a Facebook ( Alexanyways, Leggy and Geeogree are on mine), a GaiaOnline, a Vizzed and a non-gaming forum I'm currently building.  Still looking for more..more I say!!!  (And yes, you can PM me for username or other sundry details )  lololol

I don't find Twitter to be addicting, really. It's cool to go on there every once and a while to see what some of my favorite artist and people are up to, but I only get on it maybe every few months.

Facebook, although, is different. I pretty much get on it everyday, it like it's just a habit. I cannot tell if it is a good or bad habit. Facebook hasn't brought me any harm yet; it's just a place to interact with people like a forum.

I don't own a Twitter account and I don't think smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol is such great event to experience. I don't think this thread is right for me.

Well, I've never been addicted to twitter or facebook, 1 reason probably being that I don't even have a twitter. And I don't really use my facebook that often, there is no need.

Meh, not surprising to me IMO. They act as if that place is the one best thing in the world that deserves the most attention no matter what, and it gets worse when you know about people obsessed over it. It's just plain obnoxious.

Well I use facebook more than twitter but I barley use that either.

I don't smoke or drink (not legal age for any and not allowed in my religion)

But seriously I find this kind of stupid. Some people get way to addicted to the internet.

I remember reading a story of a mother killing her baby because of farmville.

It's just plain idiotic and terrible.

But this twitter thing, All I can say is that people need to go outside.

Yeah i think twitter is definitely more addictive than facebook or drugs, it something you can dip in and out of way too much and of course people get suprised in how much spare time they actually have to post their murmuring on twitter for their friends to see. I too am one of those people :p

On the other hand, it is addicting to some people. I've seen a lot of people on Twitter more than I see on Facebook.
