Hey everyone. I don't really know how to begin this thread, so I guess I'll just cut to the chase. I recently received my disability review letter. They said I am no longer disabled. Which is a huge lie. You all know I suffer with PTSD, depression, anxiety, diabetes, seizures and migraines. Yet, they claim I am cured. So I have a long battle coming up. I have to appeal their decision and AGAIN get an attorney on the case. I don't know how long it will take. But I am fighting it til the end. I don't think I'll be on as regular as I have been recently. I doubt I will be on chat much. So if you do see me, it'll be here on the forums until I can get all of this taken care of. I will check in when I can. I hope things will be in my favor. It's definitely causing me a lot of stress, to the point of feeling sick physically. Anyway, til next time. Love y'all.

Sorry to hear, Sun. I've watched my mom's health deteriorate over the past several years and she's got a lot of the same stuff. I've seen how it's completely changed the kind of person she was. It's not fun for me to watch. Everybody in the room cringes just at the sight of her getting up to do something, because we've all seen her just topple. I can only imagine the living hell she must be going through. I hate seeing that someone's going through something similar.

I hope things get better for you.

soxfan849 : Thank you very much. I'm sorry to hear about your Mom. I understand how it's hard to be able to try and live your life from day to day and it's hard because of the illnesses you have to deal with. I appreciate the support. It helps me more than you know.

Is PTSD even curable? All I can imagine is that you learn to handle it, it does not go away --anyone can jump in and correct me on this. Just remember that we are here for you, Sun. I hope this little bit can help comfort you whenever you feel terrible.

AuraBlaze : No PTSD is not curable, at least not at the level I have it. It can be manage to a certain point, but it can't be cured. Unfortunately it is a life long illness for me. I didn't suffer with just one trauma, but more than several.

Oh and we went to file the appeal yesterday. The worker that took the forms from us, she said she even thinks they made the wrong decision. They went with, since I can move my arms and legs, I can work. PTSD, depression, anxiety, diabetes, seizures and complicated migraines have NOTHING to do with my illnesses. Yes I can move my arms and legs, NOW. But it doesn't mean I won't black-out when under too much stress. I almost blacked out at the SSI office yesterday. I could barely walk to the car afterward. But yeah, they say I can work. Heck, I wish I could work, then I wouldn't have to go through all of this, but unfortunately. I am not able to do things other people do. Yeah I am no longer in the wheelchair, but that took four years of physical therapy to even be able to walk from my bedroom to the bathroom on my own. I still have to be careful, if I over do it, my body shuts down, and sometimes to the point of my losing consciousness or losing months at a time. There is so many symptoms, if I listed them all, your jaw would hit the floor, I'm not even kidding you. My life consists of, Doctors, medications, and the ONLY way I get any contact with the world is from my computer. I don't get to go out and do things that I want to do. Heck, I'm lucky if I have enough strength to sit down and concentrate on reading a book. Anyway, sorry for ranting. I'm sure I probably annoyed someone by now with all of my jibber jabber. I'll keep you all posted on the progress. I have a long road ahead of me.

Hey Sun I know what you are going through.  Every year at least twice a year I have this battle with my insurance.  Most the time it's because the mail man is lazy and bring the mail late.  So I have to keep re-registering my insurance.  My folks finally are helping me by paying the postage for getting my confirmation letter over night and having to get a return receipt so I know it gets there on time.  This almost costs $100 for all the safety of it getting there.  Some times the mail man messes up on my end too I don't get the warning mail until after the confirmation letter is supposed to be sent.  Lately though my insurance has been nice and calls up if I don't hand it in time and they will be nice to wait or send another package for me to fill out.  They just started that this year and it's become less of a hassle.

I hope things get better for you like they are for me paper work wise.  Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear that, Sun

They're most definitely wrong to claim that you are cured. They probably know very well that you are not cured but only did this in an attempt to cut corners and see how far they could go with it. I hope you stick it to them. You're in my thoughts.

NotJon : Yeah, I even have Doctors that said I won't ever be cured but they were all like "we can't go by that, it was back in 2004. They're so dumb. Thanks for the thoughts, I appreciate that.

Wow That really does suck. I don't really know if getting disability or the path to getting it is the same as in Britain. But I can at least say I know how it feels to be told your not ill even though you are. I myself suffer from Depression and suicidal thoughts which isn't that bad but when it's combined with my epilepsy it becomes more serious... All I have to do is not take my medication intentionally and hope that I have a fit somewhere  that I can die basically. As a result of this I have actually caused myself serious harm.

But even though I have been confirmed to have these "illnesses" I am not allowed on Disability. It just sickens me that I get looked at as a lazy 20 year old male who is just trying to find an easy way earn money that doesn't involve getting a job or a miracle. It's got to the stage that I'm actually wishing my epilepsy gets worse... I just want people to understand.
anyways I think I've been a bit too open about myself when the true matter lies with you. If you ever want to talk to someone I'm always available.

I wish you luck with your disability claim... Hopefully they see their mistake.....

supersonic1998 : I am definitely going to try as hard as I can to win this. I honestly wish I was better. But if I was better, I'd be able to drive. Can't really do that when I get black-out and amnesiac episodes. I don't need to end up dying in a car wreck. But, I'll keep everyone posted on the progress. Don't know how long this battle will take but I will let you all know how it's going.
