So here we are. I assume you all know how to do a top 10 list and what they are.

Without further ado, I introduce you to my top 10 list... if you wish you may also post yours below or make comments. In fact, I'd prefer if you did.

10. SEGA Dreamcast

Admittedly, this is the one on the list I have the least experience with. I never owned one of my own because of finances, and not many of my friends had one either. My experience is based almost entirely on the games I have played. It probably belongs a little higher on the list, but I'm getting rambly...

The Dreamcast is home of one of the more interesting series I like. Shenmue. That alone got it a spot in the top 10. There were others, such as Jet Grind Radio (and the Sonics) that got it on here. The one downfall... is the massive controller. Seriously :|

9. Nintendo Entertainment System

The NES has so many classic games that it shouldn't be a miracle it made my top 10 list. It's also withstood the test of time, and is STILL a blast to play after all these years. It may not be as fun for me as a PS3 or a PSP, but it's still something I'll use on a rainy day.

If I could nitpick, the only downfall is the lack of GREAT games for the system, although as time goes on, better games are always being made. I'm sure one day, the same will be said of the current generation systems.

8. Playstation

The original. It was the first good attempt at disc based console games, which is pretty good for something that was intended to be a PART of the N64. If I have to choose one game on this list to make a habit of playing it would be Final Fantasy VII (or VIII. Or IX), although games like Grandia, Metal Gear Solid, and Crash Bandicoot should keep you coming back for more. And more. And more.

The playstation was great... but there were better consoles. It wasn't even the best system of its generation.

7. Nintendo 64

That honor belongs to the Nintendo 64. It did 3D better at first (although in fairness, the PSone caught up in time). The N64 was the first system I owned by myself, and I used to play this all the time (until I got a PS2)

The first system to pull off 64 bit well charmed me for many a year. Conker's Bad Furday is probably one of my favorites on this system. Anyone who has played it can understand why.

6. Super Nintendo Entertainment System

But the Nintendo 64 was NOT the best Nintendo console ever. The SNES was the best as far as home "consoles" went (not counting handhelds). I personally never owned a SNES, because I was too young to really own one. My grandmother owned a Genesis, which I played instead. Most of the games were similar, but you can't play Mario on a Genesis. Unfortunately, I don't care for Mario... which is why it's here, and why the Genesis isn't.

Although... the SNES wasn't even the best system NINTENDO ever made...

5. Gameboy Advance

Say hello to the GBA. This was my favorite handheld growing up. I quickly found myself ensnared by the multitude of games available on the handheld. You can play all of which in the RGR... in fact, most of the games I play on Vizzed ARE GBA games.

Check out the Megaman Battle Network Series. Seriously.

4. Sega Genesis

Now we get to the hard ones. It took me a while to hammer out the exact order of the final four. That's a testament to how much I loved the Genesis. I place it at 4 though, simply because truth be told, it was NOT that much different than the SNES. I probably could have put the Advance above this, but it would have been hard to justify that for me. The Genesis was just that much better than the SNES. I don't think I could possibly find it in my heart to put them closer together.

Sonic the Hedgehog.

That's all that needs to be said.

3. Playstation 2

You can probably guess where the rest of this list is going, but listen anyway. The PS2 was the first system I fell in love with. I don't know what it was.... or I didn't. Now I think I get it. The PS2 had the best selection of games ever. Everything seemed to be on this system, and everything ran well. The longevity was outstanding. It has been around for over 10 years and is FINALLY being phased out in favor of the PS3.

So many games <3

2. SONY PSP

The best handheld ever. It only does everything. Don't try to argue it. A hacked PSP is the best friend of many a gamer. It can play literally anything older than itself. It can.

I won't choose one game. It plays ALL games. Well, most games. The one system it can't play...

1. Playstation 3.

You knew this was coming. If you didn't, shame on you.

The PS3 is the most godliest console ever. And for good reason.

Exclusives exclusives exclusives. Forget everything else the console does better than every other system and look at these. Heavy Rain. Disgaea. Uncharted. Ratchet and Clank. I could go on for hours, but I'm not getting into another rant on this subject.

I will not hear any arguments. Until a PS4 comes out... the PS3 is the king of gaming. We are just it's very willing players.

OK here's my top 10 list:

10. SEGA Genesis I haven't had this long but It was still good to me

9. XBOX
It was a good system but pales in comparison to Sony.
8. Nintendo DS
At first I thought it was gonna suck but now I don't think so anymore considering that I want a 3DS now.

7.Playstation(PSone)
I liked the fact that they started to make  disc-based games at the time. This system will be a memory for me to remember.

6.Playstation 2
Sure it was an upgrade to its original one but I liked this system a whole lot. I'll never forget the memories with games like Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, Kingdom Hearts, and Crash Bandicoot.

5. N64

One of the best system known worldwide I played this very much that I didn't want to stop.

4. Gameboy Advance

Reason why this is number 4, cause of the pokemon remakes as well as some others like Donkey Kong and Mario.

3. NES

When I was a little boy I enjoyed watching my brother play games such as Mario, Punch Out, and others, which made me want to play it a lot.

2.SNES

Upgraded version of the NES. I liked this as much as the NES though it's still a memorable system to me.

1 PS3

Well I guess some of y'all were expecting this to be my first huh? Well you guessed it, this indeed is my top console and the top-selling system in the world. I really enjoy the experience and gameplay from this system and the fact that you can download some classic games as well.

Here's my list
10- Playstation (1995, Sony.)
To be fair, I've never really praised the Playstation enough for what it did. It introduced me to Metal Gear, one of my favourite franchises in gaming. Resident Evil's 1-3 were spectacular. But, I only remember Playstation for Ape Escape really...
9. 3DS/ DS/DSi (2010/2004/2008, Nintendo)
In my lifetime, my household has seen (Including the 3DS) 6 forms of the Nintendo DS. That's how much this thing kicks ass. With what are possibly the best Pokemon games to date and a solid online structure (EXCEPT FOR THOSE DAMN FRIEND CODES)
8.Playstation 2 (2000, Sony)
This is on the list because of two things. It introduced me to Sonic the Hedgehog (Via Heroes) and it has Metal Gear Solid 2. Did I mention it could play DVD'S And CD'S?
7. Turbo Grafx16CD/ Sega (Mega) CD (1991/1993, NECHudson Soft/ Sega)
It's a toss up between the TG16CD and Mega CD. They both had okay games for the most part (The Sega CD having the lesser favourable ones) and were pretty revolutionary at the time. Rondo of Blood and Sonic CD gives them Extra points.
6. Super NES (1990, Nintendo)
Tee-f'ing-Hee. This console is God really. containing some of the best games of all time, I just haven't really played on one. It's only number 6 because I've played most SNES Greats via my Wii or the RGR.
5. Sega Mega Drive/Genesis (1988, Sega)
This console was struggling until 1991 (And we all know why) and for a good reason. All we had was Alex Kidd and Altered Beast. Then 1991 came around, and two things were heard everywhere around the world. "SEEEEGAAAAA" and the word Sonic. Sonic changed the Megasis (
4. Playstation 3/ Xbox (2006/2001, Sony/ Microsoft)
I'm putting PS3 Here because of the aforementioned exclusives and Xbox because it was the first true online gaming experience (Before you ask, I know about the Dreamcast). MGS4, Uncharted 1-3, God of War and more make the PS3 An exclusive powerhouse. Also, Halo 2. Need I say more about the Xbox?
3. Wii (2006, Nintendo)
Again. it comes back to exclusives. Zelda Skyward Sword, Super Mario galaxy 1 AND 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Xenoblade, Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Sonic Colours the list goes on and on.
2. NES (1983/85, Nintendo)
Let's face it, if we didn't have this, we would not be where we are today. And we wouldn't have Mario.
This will stir some people up but....
1. Dreamcast (1998, Sega)
Sega dreamt high, they flew high for about 2 years, then fell hard. The story of the Dreamcast is probably the saddest in gaming. It was probably the best console Sega made, it had great features like online and the VMU. It had great ports of arcade games like Soul Calibur and Crazy Taxi (B.D Joe For the win BTW). It also has THE BEST 3D SONIC GAME EVARRRRRR In Sonic Adventure 2. What more could I say? I Dream of Dreamcast!

legacyme3 : Why do I have to dispute everything that you just said?

9. Nintendo Entertainment System
If I could nitpick, the only downfall is the lack of GREAT games for the system, although as time goes on, better games are always being made. I'm sure one day, the same will be said of the current generation systems.

Lack of great games? What do you call the Legend of Zelda? Final Fantasy II? Metroid? Kid Icarus? Super Mario Bros. 3? Are these not great games? Is that not why you bought an NES?

8. Playstation

The original.

No it wasn't.

It was the first good attempt at disc based console games,

No it wasn't.

which is pretty good for something that was intended to be a PART of the N64.

No it wasn't.

Oh, I guess I stopped reading there, the rest of it was accurate... Carry on then.

Lazlo Falconi :

"The console's origins date back to 1988 where it was originally a joint project between Nintendo and Sony to create a CD-ROM for the Super Nintendo."

This went beyond to the N64, but then Sony ultimately got fed up with waiting (and dealing with the dispute over how money would be divided) and made their own system.

Silly Nintendo, making their own enemies.

I admit the Playstation wasn't the first system to utilize the disc based media. But it was the first to EFFECTIVELY utilize it, ushering in a new era of gaming.

As for the NES point... that's really all personal opinion. I didn't really ever like the original Legend of Zelda a lot, and Super Mario Bros wasn't exactly something I played much of.

legacyme3 : But by your own admission the PSX was meant to be an expansion for the Super NES. As far as I was aware, there were never any designs on making it part of the N64, but from what you've posted, it seems like it was just talks, and nothing substantial.

Lazlo Falconi :

From my research, it appears as if it was actually more considered for the N64.

I obviously wasn't at the talks, but the general idea was that during the SNES era, the tech wasn't 100% compatible with the SNES, so they decided to hold it off until the next gen system, the N64.

However, that was when the talks broke down. From what I can see it WAS planned for the SNES "originally" but the project was moved to the N64. Then Nintendo decided to be cheapasses.
