I recently got a laptop (birthday present) but I dislike touchpads but didn't have an extra mouse, so as you can guess there was a problem for me until I found out about Synergy! This little power house of a program makes it so you can share one set of a mouse and keyboard between as many computers as you would want. It's as simple as dragging the mouse to the end of one screen and it pops up on another!

In short: ONE MOUSE/KEYBOARD FOR UNLIMITED COMPUTER FUN WOO!

Edit: You could also try out Input Director pretty much the same deal but it may interest you more. (davideos recommendation)

The fact that I'm able to play fighting games reasonably well over this (on a wireless network no less) makes this brutally awesome!

Synergy is ok but I much prefer Input Director. Input Director is basically the same thing but in my opinion is much better. Try out "Input Director" DM and see if you like it better.

+ Takes less processing power.

- Doesn't have the multi tap feature that synergy has.

Yeah I've actually used both but here at work but for what I do, Input Director just seemed like the better choice but for what you want to do, Synergy is probably your better choice.
