Just wondering, how many times has this happened? I am not a viewer of snowboarding or x games type of stuff. I know it is rare to get a perfect score, but I didn't know if he was the first to do it for this event. I have a tough time following any sport where scoring is subjective.  Anything based on style, grace, program, or beauty just doesn't fit my definition of "Sport."

A hockey team wins a game, 3-2.  The Superbowl will have a final score.  There's definitive scoring, not subjective scoring, and there's little/no debate over who wins in the end. 

Snowboarding, figure skating, some equestrian events, they all have scores based on opinions, not putting a ball in a net, a goal, or over a wall.

I really enjoy watching Shaun White snowboard. He does some amazing things. I didn't really think that particular run deserved a perfect score, but I guess considering he was injured leading up to it, that factored into the decision.

It's not that the run wasn't great, it's just that I think I've seen him to better in the past.
