Where do you live?

How often something of the sort happens?
(I hope I won't trigger any bad memories now, just curious)

Estonia is pretty safe as far as it concerns tornados or earthquicks. We do have them, but really small ones.

I moved to another city a couple of years ago, it's at the seaside and it's always stormy here, sea and river flooding, etc.

This winter we've had awfully lots of storms, too. (funnily without snow)

The only kind of natural disaster my area has ever had was flooding. Nothing deadly, just to the point of people having damage to their property.

Growing up in southern California, it was fairly common to experience earthquakes, flooding, and wildfires. Luckily the flooding never got too bad in my area and the fires always stay fairly far away... but the earthquakes are kinda hard to avoid.

Since moving here, I've learned the area gets tornados every now and then... none yet. We did have an earthquake, ironically. The big thing is flooding. But right where we are we have been lucky so far.

dosent much happen in scotland, there were huricane force winds a while ago though, my neighbours dog got blown away, i thought it was hilarious tbh, it landed safely.
She shouldnt have been out though, the police did tell people not to leave there houses. My uncle was hit by a roof, somehow he was ok.
Apart from that just occasianl flooding and pandemonium caused by heavy snowfalls.

Well, I live in southern California. I'm almost used to hearing news about wildfires, earthquakes, and the ocassional flooding here and there. Thankfully, the most I've felt was a little bit a shaking from an earthquake.

In the Great Plains, I had to deal with strong property damaging wind fairly regularly, and tornadoes. Tornadoes never struck TOO close to where I lived, but there's been multiple funnel clouds that have spun almost directly over my city and started to descend, but lost power and eventually dissipated. A tiny little podunk town in the middle of no where (about an hour away from my hometown) got completely wiped out a few years back, but that's about it.

Another big one is flooding. Last year we almost lost our mobile home to a really bad flood season. Our mobile home was kind of perched up on a slight hill and was raised quite a bit, and even then the water was literally 2-3 inches from getting in. It was terrifying, especially since the water levels rose so suddenly that Lazlo, our newborn daughter, and I almost got trapped inside. The water was up to my knees getting into the truck, and cars were flooded out all over the park. The trailer park right next to ours was unfortunately kind of in a basin and it completely flooded out; every single mobile home was flooded and condemned, most of the people there lost everything. I actually knew a chick who lived over there, she ran a home daycare out of her home. She just barely got all her kids out in time. But it was so hard to see, because there were families stuck out on their porches with their pets, watching their cars get swallowed up, waiting for the boats to come and get them while they lost all their worldly possessions. It was tough. My family was sooo lucky.

Hawaii gets tsunamis, the ocassional random hurricane, and the Vog Monster.  Other than that we're pretty quiet.

I lived in Western Kansas most of my life, which is no stranger to extremely strong winds, frequent tornadoes, and occasional flooding. People who call Chicago the "Windy City" have clearly never been to western Kansas. I have personally seen 5 tornadoes growing up, and a lot more tornado warnings where I didn't see them. However, I now live in Easter Kansas, where that stuff is not as frequent or strong. I don't think in the 4 years I have lived year have I experienced destructive winds. There have only been 2 tornadoes significantly close to the city I live, and they weren't close enough for me to actually see. There was, however, a fairly large flood a couple years ago. Pretty much all highways entering the city from the south were under about a foot of water. Quite a few smaller towns around us were isolated for a few days. Nothing that hindered me any, though.

I live in NY near the tri-state corner of Conn. and Mass. and we get lots of things.  Snow/ice storms, floods, wind storms, and occasional hurricane or tornado.  Now I have never been hit by a tornado *knock on wood* but they tend to hit nearby.  Every year we get at least one storm that floods and one storm that knocks our power out for a week.  Oh ice storms or horrible around here.  They are such a pest the whole area is on lock down when those happen.  Mostly because all the roads are so curvy and go up huge hills/mountains.  So when we get ice you can't go anywhere!

Back when I was living in central  California there was an Earthquake It's collapse a section of The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge .The power Knocked out and the city was dark for the first time.3 days later the power was Fully Restore .The quake killed 62 people throughout Central
California, injured 3757 and left more than 12,000 homeless.
Interstate 280 rocked so viciously during the earthquake that sections of the
freeway slammed into one another, cracking off pieces. Some columns
actually fractured, exposing the reinforcing steel in places where the
concrete disintegrated. The Embarcadero Freeway along the Waterfront
was nearly destroyed by the shaking, though Caltrans said it could be repaired. The past tragic event occur in October 1989.

I was 4 years old  I've been  having countless nightmares of a bridge collapsing until this day.So my wiring is unstable prior to the event without notice of my haunting  past.

Now living in Las Vegas the weather have 30 MPH gusts of wind,3 feet of flood, and extreme  Temparature up to 160 degrees during the summer.
