My school always puts on a play every year. We put on a play because the money we raise
goes towards our annual spring trip (which include Costa Rica, Mexico, Arizona, The
Blueridge Mountains, Washington DC, etc.) The plays I have been in are as followed:
Murder at Crooked House, Much Ado About Nothing, And Then There Were None, Hamlet,
Peter Pan, Tootsie Town. I'm currently working with my school on the play Arsenic and Old
Lace. Plays are one of my many passions.

Has your school ever put on a school play before and if so what are the names of the play.
If you want you can add a story or tell what characters you were.

My high school does do plays. The only on I know of that is based on other stories are Romeo & Juliet and Little Shop of Horrors. THe others were ones they made up. I never participated in one nor gone out to see one, but I do plan to this semester.

My last high school did around 4 plays a Year, half of which on average were musicals.

I saw my school's performance of seussical the musical, as well as The Taming Of The Shrew, both of which were excellent in my opinion.

My schools used to put on plays all the time, although in Highschool I'm not quite sure where the money went to exactly. In middle school, and grade school it was just for the family/friends/school so they didn't charge for tickets.

I remember having to play Christopher Columbus in the 6th grade for a play...and I hated every min of it. As a matter of fact, the only reason I did it was because I had a crush on a girl in the play lol

I wish my college would so some plays. Well...musicals anyway. My choir teacher is a nun so we don't get to do musicals. If we could do Grease, Sweeney Todd, Hairspray, Fiddler on the Roof, or The Phantom of the Opera I would be the happiest person in the world.

XxChaosxX :  Oh yes! Phantom of the Opera is my favorite play. It one play I want to be in. Hopefully I'll
get lucky. I would definitely be the happiest person in the world.

My high school did 1 to 2 plays a year. We always did a one act, and occasionally we'd do a spring play. I know we did little shop of horrors as a one act. I don't really remember any of the other ones. We did the Seussification of Romeo and Juliet one year as a spring play though.

College however we do 4 plays a year. I was in the 25th annual Putnam county spelling bee as Logaine. Beyond that we've done Charlie's Aunt, and Almost, Maine. We've done several shows that I don't remember or that most people have never heard of. I recently concluded the show "The Club" as Johnny. Where a bunch of girls pretend to be a bunch of guys. That's about it. Our high school never did musicals though, it was sad.

My high school did school plays, but I never got involved in large part due to the divas/dramageeks that often flooded them. I love acting, and I've done a play outside of school, but it kind of kills it for me when one or two people value themselves and their performance over the actual play itself.

I haven't been in a play since Junior High. My High School had a drama class, but it was an elective. I never took it.

Oddly enough my high school never did school plays. At the time I went the principal decided to focus everything on the AGed department which left all the other departments to crumble with no funding. Though I heard after firing the principal and getting a new one the school has gotten upgrades in all other departments and is doing much better! (Wish I could go back and get a better high school education right now T.T)

Does my school do them? Yes, I'm pretty sure. Two times a year I think.

Do I participate? No, I haven't. I had participated in quite a few middle school plays though.

My middle school use to do a lot of plays but I barely remember
most of them . I do remember my middle school doing " The
Wizard Oz " play . My high school never did any plays. Most of
the school's money went to the equipment like computers , art
supplies and electronic boards .

My school does at least one play/musical every year.  Here they are, in the order they came in -

Music Man- A musical, obviously.  Very fun, but slow paced.  I was a traveling salesman (yes, I'm a girl), and probably had the hardest part in the whole musical (rapping while bouncing up in down in a 'train' and so on).

Not putting in exert

Curse of the Cobra's Kiss- Awesomeness.  A comedy murder mystery play where you interact with the audience.  By far my favorite one yet! I was Chef Lulu Fondue, the slightly insane chef who runs around chasing people with her cleaver. The cleaver is named Cleaver Buddy.

(Chef Fondue enters, chased by maids.  (I added next part, changing the script.  Caused audience to laugh... -->)Circles around tables and runs off, leaving maids running around table chasing nothing.  Chef looks at audience, acting confused and rolling eyes until maids realize something's wrong.  Chef clears throat loudly.)

PORTIA- "It had to be you!"
CHEF FOUNDUE- "I don't know what your talking about, ingrates!"
PORTIA- "You always hated Moo-Moo!"
JULIET- "And you were the only one who could have put that basket in front of the door!"
CORDELIA- "Everyone else was in the parlor!"
CHEF- "I was cleaning fish at the time.  And I don't mean catfish!"
CORDILIA- "Yeah?  Prove it!"
CHEF- "You want proof?  Smell THIS!"  (Chases maids offstage, cleaver raised)

Once on this Island- A musical with almost no talking(other than the storytellers)... Pretty cool, I'm going to perform it in two weeks.  I'm Storyteller 3, which again, along with Storytellers 1,2, and 4, may be the hardest part in the musical.

STORYTELLER 1- "There is an island, where rivers run deep..."
STORYTELLER 2- "Where the sea, sparkling in the sun, earns it the name Jewel of the Antilles."
STORYTELLER 3- "An island where the poorest of peasants labor..."
STORYTELLER 3- "And the wealthiest of the grand hommes play!"
STORYTELLER 1- "Two different worlds on one island!"
STORYTELLER 2- "The grand hommes, owners of the lands and masters of their own fates."
STORYTELLER 3- "And the peasants, eternally at the mercy of the wind and the sea, who pray constantly... to the gods." (Intro to first song)
