I have gotten it in my eye before, it hurts really badly, and ever after washing it out it can still hurt

I had shampoo in my left eye mostly. I really hate when that happens cause I have to keep my eye closed while taking a shower and washing my hair, which really makes me nervous a lot.

I tend to swear a lot and grab a towel and dab at my eyes with it. I find that if I try to rinse my eye out with cold water, my eye stings more

Oh I hate getting shampoo in the eye. My first reaction is to try to run water over my closed eye to make sure that any residue is gone, then wind up dealing with the few seconds of pain until it goes away.

It is worse when you are carrying the sponge and soap, have your hair dropping shampoo to your eye and the shampoo in your eyes, I quickly try to take off all the shampoo from my hair, hands and then the eye until it stops burning.

I used to panick if I got shampoo in my eyes. Now I just blink rapidly and run cool water through my eyes until they stop burning. The towel thing never worked for me because the towel was dry - so it had a nasty habit of just making it worse.
