Nope, school starts tomorrow for me too. But I've heard that people get this whole week off, and I'm jealous of that. xD

The reason why some people have today off is because the fact that New Year's Day falls on a Sunday makes the next Monday a federal holiday. So today is like a long weekend, in the same way that Veteran's Day or Memorial Day are.

Of course, I don't think people in other countries have the same system, though they might get today off too just for convenience's sake. I wouldn't really know, though. x3
