I typically do. Although, I skip the parts that tell you how to play. I'll let the game tell me that. I read the manuals because they often provide information about what happened before the events of the beginning of the game that can help give a better understanding of the story. That is about it.

I do read instruction manuals... but not for the reasons you think.

I normally play a game myself to get the handle of it, so I usually don't look at the controls sections. I just like reading manuals to see how they formatted it and what they did to discuss various aspects of the game.
