the gameboy  has a zilog z80 proccessor  which can run cpm. so would it be possible to run cpm-80 on a gb?

Well, there's a bit more to it than just having the same processor. You COULD get it to work eventually, but you'd have to program drivers for the button input, a software keyboard for it, an interface for the cartridge slot and EXT1. It wouldn't be required but you'd want to write a program to switch the color of the power indicator when the battery was low (Or make it flash for notifications/what have you). It would be an interesting challenge though, to the right person. 

Out of curiosity, why do you want to run CP/M on a GBA? Especially when there is already http://www.kernelthread.com/publications/gbaunix/

Just wondering. Are you talking about the original Game Boy (as you said gb), or a Game Boy Advanced? Also, if you can do it, do you actually plan on doing it? Why would you want to? I assume if you wanted to, it is because the processor on your Game Boy (or Game Boy Advance) is broken and you don't want to find another one to buy. Although, that might be less trouble.
