To be honest the hardest game i have ever played is The Lion King on the snes. I dont understand how they expect little kids to be able to beat it. I have been trying to beat the Be Prepared level for ever now and i always end up rage quitting. It really sucks how there is no stage select so you have to play every stage all over again if you lose.

For me the hardest game is super Mario 64

Believe it or not, Super Mario Bros, the classic original. It's a tricky game to begin with, and for a gamer who's been softened by modern games with their more accessible game play and easy mode options, it's really a challenge for me. But honestly, I don't really try to play difficult games.I play for fun, not personal glory. I'm not ashamed to admit I play easy mode!

Doom 2 on Nightmare difficulty. That was just impossible for me. 

"Ghosts & Goblins". I've never made it past the first level. And even if you make it past the last you have to do it all over again. It's like the second quest is somehow built into the first. Then again, the game is so bad that I don't have the motivation to practice it the requisite five hundred times anyway....

Either battletoads, or I wanna be the guy. I usually cannot get past the turbo tunnel in battletoads, like most people. I have only beat the first boss in I wanna be the guy, the game just made me rage quit and I have never really bothered to make it any further.

I don't want to sound dumb, but I believe the Lion King for the Genesis is a hard game. I can never get pass the Stampede level!

I'd say Toads or Frogger. SO HARD!!!!!!!!!!

For me, probably the entire Zelda series, especially when I was younger. Those games always proved challenging to me, as I am really bad at solving puzzles. I would usually get my sister to come and help me figure out the puzzle I was stuck on. It was quite shameful. I think I only ever beat two Zelda games, which were Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess.

I want to cop out and say "Back to the Future" for N.E.S., Or "Ghost-busters" for N.E.S. Those Games were difficult because the developers lacked substance. I also want to say "Ninja Turtles 1" for the N.E.S., Or "Battle Toads 1" for the N.E.S., but those games had something to them and people coming back for more. Even "Gauntlet" falls into that category 255 levels? Come on. A person has to sleep sometime. But With the invention of "Internet Progress saves" allot of those games loose their Difficulty. Even the famous "Ninja Gaiden" looses allot of difficulty with this invention. The Hardest Game I bring attention to would have to be "Nightshade" for the N.E.S. It had (I think) the first ever "Quick-Time" events (I hope I'm using the proper terms) that made me go mad at times I thought I had this thing nailed. To this day I still cant complete it yet. There was one guy I know of that did it. (He made a strategy guide on the internet.) Even following his guide I wind up not getting more than 27% of that thing completed.
"Nightshade" beats me up every time. I hope the ending is worth it if I ever Finish it. After learning that at least one other completed it I have to continue to try.

It has to be Zelda Parallel Worlds that game is excrutatingly difficult.

Hey I just figured that this would be another hard game, if I hadn't beaten it every single time I had gotten it. But think of this game being hard. The new Turok on its hardest level. In all honesty, its almost impossible to beat even if your wicked good at it. Agree or disagree my fellow gamers?

The Original Mortal Kombat games on hard Difficulty

For difficult games, I always think back to NES. The term "NES hard" was created for a reason.

The original Ghosts and Goblins was extremely difficult. Ninja Gaiden was pure madness. And if you'd like a fairly obscure game that's extremely difficult, check out Milon's Secret Castle. I grew up on that game and got nowhere close to ever beating it, even when I tried to revisit it recently.
