Really depends.

Dating sites as a whole don't work for me. Although I did find love online. I just didn't do it on a dating site. It's possible to find love on a dating site, but the odds are about as they are in real life.

If you are looking for love online just go to the nearest porn site. Or take your chances, could be a cop, maybe a 40 year old man, or just a nutcase. Better safe then sorry.

I can't really say "no"; but I also can't really say "yes". I've had two successful online relationships. One I met at a site like Facebook, another was at an actual dating site. The one I met on the other site (like Facebook)I ended up visiting. It was the best 8 months of my life (though it was hard sometimes because of the distance--she lived 2 states away). Anyways, that's my opinion.

I wouldn't say they're good nor bad...but overall, most online relationships are difficult to maintain unless you have a serious and strong connection with the person online you're dating. Personally, I think it's much easier dating offline....that way, people know the real you.

I am generally inclined to find no as it is very easy to simply fake a lot of things, and digging through the people who does that is... redundant at times. The anonymous nature of the internet in that regard can be a curse in that it sort of throws a lot more to chance, especially if someone is not careful. I guess my main beef is how easy it is to be deceived...

That being said, i will say they have their positives. Deception is a problem in the world world so one could argue said claim is invalid. It also provides an alternative to people who are really having trouble and there is a wide range of people but...in a sense isn't that almost scrapping the bottom of the barrel? 

I don't trust them personally, but if you go into it knowing that what you see and read is not necessarily the truth, then it is possible to avoid the crappiness. I made a good friend on OkCupid (I went there for the quizzes and made an account to save my results). You just have to be careful and try to have a more normal conversation (video chat or something) so that you can actually have real interaction and find out what they were really like.

Dating online is only ever worth it if you are planning to meet someone in person eventually. I met my fiance online and our relationship is no different than people who met by bumping in to each other in person. Obviously it's not like we weren't able to get to know each other and fall in love just because we were restricted to talking over a video call or phone call for the first eight months of knowing each other.

You have to be careful when contacting people online, but one surefire way to check if a person is actually who they say they are (at least when it comes to how they look), is to simply Skype with them.

Personally I don't trust actual dating sites, though... I would be worried that everyone on there is horny and just desperate to get laid. I know that's not necessarily true for everyone, but getting messaged by people on a dating site is not something I ever want to deal with.

It depends on how you use them and on what you are looking for, also on the person. I know that I have had success with a few dating sites and they worked out well but I'm a trusting person. Some dating sites make you do the work and others do all the work for you which is both good and bad depending on if you make a mistake or if they do. Plus you got to watch out for those psycho stalkers that try and find you and don't leave you alone. XD lol I for the most part say they are good due to the success I have had with them and I am very happy with the girlfriend I have right now.

I wouldn't say dating websites are terrible. A few of my relatives actually met and married from websites like these.

That said, I don't support them fully either. You really just have to use your best discretion when you're on them. On one hand, it's a chance to meet potentially new partners, but there are those that aren't quite as legitimate as they seem.

Plus, they don't have a 100% success rate. And I think meeting and getting to know people in real life would be a better alternative to trying to meet people on a website. Really, something like this would be your last resort.
