Sorrow doesn't always go away. There are some things that happen that always make you feel sad, no matter how long it has been. But what is supposed to happen is that even though it is still sad, you are supposed to eventually reach that point where it isn't so hard to handle. Even though it is sad, you should get to that point where you can think about it without being put into a depressed state. Sometimes, people need help getting to that point. If you are seriously considering suicide, then I think the Vizzed community shouldn't be the only place you talk about it. I would really suggest seeking out help from a counselor or someone like that. On top of that, seek support from everyone you hold close. If it has been months of no improvement, it is more likely that you won't get over these feelings on your own. Don't try to deal with it alone.

Most people who have suicidal thoughts don't have control over their minds so they end up resorting to cutting their arms up, booze, pills, and seek other peoples help.

In reality, its as simple as controlling your own mind without the help from outside influences. That is how you defeat suicidal thoughts. You probably won't learn this the easy way, no one ever does.

cop7000 : Having been there, I hate admitting it but JigSaw is right about it never being learned easy.

Sadness and grief are lingering effects, and if you have constant new stimuli it makes it harder to get over. My advice is take up some hobby that keeps you out of the house more so you get away from the things that bring you down. It does wonders. I joined school clubs.

It sounds like you have some unresolved issues with your mother, and for that you might want to try to talk to her about it or ask to see a therapist. Throwing things is never really a good sign.

Also, I feel this belongs in Cafe more than in Debate, so I am going to move this.

cop7000 : My condolences go out to you. Sorrow can be an odd thing sometimes especially when it comes to grieving. It goes without saying that everyone grieves in different ways and no one’s process is exactly the same as someone else’s.

In regard to grieving there can be sorrow mixed with anger over what has happened and such. Speaking from personal experience I’ve lost members of my family both with a little bit of notice as some were sick and such and I’ve lost one member suddenly in a car accident. Regardless of if you kind of prepare yourself or if it comes suddenly it really doesn’t make it easier to deal with. Grieving is a process and you just have to let grieving run it’s course. It may also help to talk to someone or maybe a couple of people who are not involved in your family and such who can help you deal with your feelings. Sometimes it’s better to talk to someone outside of the bubble so to speak although talking with family does also help so you don’t want to shut your family out.

The hurt over losing someone never really goes away but it does gradually become easier to deal with in time. My heart goes out to you.

I've been down the road of sorrow many times. The best advice I can give is to either get used to the fact things will suck from time to time, or to just forget about the past as much as you can.

It's never easy, but the good things in life ARENT easy.

I hope you get it figured out, and I hope I figure it out too.
