I liked the original (red/blue) battle theme as well. Why? Well, one it's catchy and awesome. I don't think I ever got tired of hearing it. But also, the nostalgia factor. My first pokemon game ever was Pokemon Blue and I played the crap out of it. Hearing the way the old gameboy played that little ditty too really takes me back to my days riding a bus for hours to South Carolina with my Squirtle and a couple of pokeballs in hand.

The rival theme from the original Gold, Silver, and Crystal versions would be my favorite. The DS version is all right but I prefer the classic theme of it. My second favorite would be Lance and Ash's theme.
