This port of doom is way under the expectation. Doom was a bestselling first-person shooter with tons of fame and awards, especially for id software(maker of Doom). The graphics were very good and the game had many industry changing elements. I thought a port to the SNES would make everything beter that the first DOS version, but I was wrong.

The graphics are the most horrible I have seen, compared to the original, especially seeing the graphics of Super Mario RPG, DK Country, and others. Enemies are blurry and can't be seen. The rooms are all dark and gloomy, making walls and other features hard to see. There are also tons of glitches, like your player running into walls and getting stuck.

There is also a large gap between the react time and button push time. The sounds are not addicting or easy to hum like any other good SNES game or the original Doom. The only good thing about the sound is that it is actually real band music, but still annoying.

The game also offers only a few options without a title and does not have many of the elements of the original. Since it is still the same game as the original Doom, I would say that it still offers a lot and is very addicting and still would pertain to the same tiny story. To sum it up, find a different port if you can.

I made a review about this and it was not that bad.  The game looks the same in both Genesis and Super Nintendo, but the sounding is a bit different.  Oh well, not everyone has the same opinions.  Nice review.

Uh have you bean looking up bits lately

this is DOOM on a 16-bit gaming system SUPER NINTNEDO

that ain't near as powerful as the PC nor DOS

an average SNES cartridge doesn't really gain that much information than the sega genesis cartridge until they have released the super FX chip and then later the FX2 chip which it includes star-fox and DOOM

making a 3D game with texture on an old 16-bit system is a very rare thing to do

wolf3D had bad graphics so you wondering why that one didn't looked better than PC because that one never used the super FX chip

Here is what I based my stance on. I understand that SNES was incapable to the PC, but DOS capabilities were very low and almost lower than SNES. Please take this into consideration.
ID software originally created DOOM, Wolf 3D, Quake, and other games that changed the world of gaming. Other companies decided to port it with ID's consent. DOOM was an example. If you look at the start of the game, there are two companies listed. The SNES had still been very powerful at the time, so DOOM was a natural in the market, but the ports all failed. All the ports were inferior to the original, see any playthrough of the original on YouTube, and you will see. ID software continued to make games for the PC and later adapted to the Xbox, although most/all games were still PC/Mac compatible. Today, ID software and Bethesda are closely related, since most modern games developed by ID are published by Bethesda Softworks.
