To answer your question... I'll just do it here, since it's too long for a PM comment, and I hate sending more PM's out...

Technically, this is a gaming site AND a forum. Forums themselves have... skewed legalities concerning registration. For the sake of registration, we normally defer to the RGR, since it's what most people sign up for. For the sake of the RGR, most of us don't really care if you be honest or lie about your age... however, then we get to forum ethics. We'd rather you be honest about your age. Let's be serious for a moment. People who want to join are going to join. If we say you can't, just because you are under 13, you will sign up anyway, and lie about your age.

Since our goal is to put people above 13 on staff, we would rather avoid the logjam of having to figure out your true age before we hire you. Hence why we allow you to join despite being under 13.

If you've ever been in chat, you would know we kick anyone out if they aren't at least 13 years of age, for obvious reasons. Our main goal with Vizzed is to make this a fun, safe place for everyone. That includes little kids. Obviously, this isn't a fun site if you are being asked all kinds of personal info, and you are say, 11. So we try and cut off any and all odds of that happening. The only way to "chat" in bulk is to use said chat room. And if you are under 13, you won't be there long. I suppose you could use the RGR to chat... but that's a bit of an ordeal, as no one likes chatting while gaming (well, no one like me I should say... I always just close the chat window in the RGR).

As for WHY you have to be 13 to be staff... this is more or line keeping in line with COPPA. You can read about it here. Ever since becoming aware of the policy, we've been gradually moving to complete compliance with it, and it's actually going rather well. The only resistance we've met has been with a few 11 year olds and a mother of one child... which I saw as confusing. But regardless... as I was saying... You have to be 13 as staff, since most staff roles deal with personal information. Only Staff can view certain things, such as hidden emails (which are required to join). It's an imperfect reason, but we also tend to find that users under 13 don't make very good staff, so it was easier to just cite COPPA than the fallacies of a child who doesn't even know what they are doing.

I really hope I didn't forget something, or otherwise lead you astray with my reasoning (I'm a little sleep deprived right now, so it's entirely possible). We here at Vizzed care about the safety of everyone on site, and go to as great lengths as we feel possible to make this place enjoyable for those of all ages.

How has your tests on the Netplay plugin worked out for you? You like how it functions so far?

Now that football season is about to start. How do you see the NFC stacking up? Do you have any sleeper teams that are going to come out of nowhere this year?

pacman1755 : Yeah I'm real pleased with the way it works so far, the only thing I don't like is that the games don't work for everyone and for some reason the SNES games don't work for some people. Other than that though, I'm very happy with it.

How hard is it to work on the Vizzed Battle Arena when you are very busy with the whole site itself?

Stevie 764 : Pretty much impossible. The Battle Arena would require a lot of commitment and free time. Between the new item shop, the battle arena and a few other related features, it'd take me an entire month assuming there was no distractions. It's hard to set aside an entire month when I've got a big list of higher priority things to work on and people are constantly letting me know of things that need to get fixed so the list just grows and grows. Also doesn't help that I get so many PMs every day that I gotta set aside time to read through and take care of.

What Vizzed rank do I have to be to play Netplay mode?

TheFadedWarrior : Normal users are able to join sessions but you need the 'Netplay' item to create sessions. The only users who don't need the Netplay item to create sessions are staff members.
