Megaman Battlechip Challenge is certainly a different breed of the Battle Network series of games, and one that I think shouldn't exist. The game handles awkwardly... that is to say you have no control at all. You choose the chips and then you watch the fight. You have to rely on your brain more than your ability to dodge attacks and mount counterattacks. Instead you have to hope and pray the chips you choose are good enough
Graphics - 7
I give this a 7, like I plan to with every Battle Network series game before 4. Why? Look at the graphics yourself. They look the exact same before 4, and the exact same after 4. BCC is just not all that different graphically.
Sound - 8
The one good part of the game, is the music. Call me a purist, but I love all Megaman Battle Network themes, and this is no exception in Battle Chip Challenge. I don't know what it is about Battle Network, but I generally enjoy the music throughout each of the games.
Addictiveness - 3
This is a game you will beat once (maybe) and never pick up again. The game altogether isn't all that fun.
Story - blank
I guess you could call what they have a story, but for the intents of this review, I'm going to discount it, and leave it blank. I don't think the story is honestly worth covering in a review. Win tournaments, be the best. Bing bam boom.
Depth - 5
I guess this game is pretty big in terms of a tournament game. There are options to use other navis, and there are also options for plenty of battle chips. If one was so inclined, they could really have fun customizing the navi/battle board, which is all the game calls fun.
Difficulty - 6
I beat the game, but I had a couple minor difficulties, mostly early in the game. If you want a challenge and enjoy Battle Network, give this a go. More challenging than any Battle Network game.
Overall - 6
In the end, this game just isn't that good. Maybe I have something against it being a Battle Network game. Maybe it's the fact I didn't even play my own character... nonetheless, this game overall was not fun, and unless you are a masochist or enjoy boring games, I would not pick this up. Spend your time crocheting, or knitting or something.
