I think you mean "tuck in"...

I don't have to do it at my school, but others probably do so just to show that they're a formal, professional school. It's probably a part of dress code at some private schools.

Well, the private school I attended for 3 years required males to wear blue slacks, and a buttoned white shirt which HAD to be tucked in. For some reason the school board said it looked "professional." I agree to an extent, but most of the male classmates disagreed and rebelled.

Yeah....once upon a time when I was in college it was the rule......severe...rule..all had to abide..once i passed in front of the rector....with shirt out...of the trousers... Yeah. The uniform is just a collared shirt with a belt and khaki shorts, so it's not so bad, but I with I had a little more freedom to wear what I want.
