No I never skipped a grade but in elementary school I could have skipped two grades. My mother decided not to advance me but put me in a more advanced private school for the rest of my elementary and middle school years. (The school had elementary and middle school but in separate buildings.) After sixth grade my family and I moved to a different state and I went to public school. I could problebly have skipped to ninth grade then. Of course that would be terrible socially so I didn't want to even skip one grade not two. Now in 2012 I am going into eighth grade this Monday two days from now. I'm glad I didn't skip because I have good friends despite just moving. I'm going to enjoy my eighth grade year even if my classes aren't teaching me anything new and intriguing.

Oh, and last year (7th grade) I took the S.A.T and I got a 1650 out of 2400 or a 1140 out of 1600. Colleges currently look at the 1600 scores and good college's like Virginia tech and unc chapel hill's middle fifty percent of accepted students got a 1150-1350 on the S.A.T So my 1140 in seventh grade doesn't look to shabby.

I've skipped one grade. I've been really good at English, and I always have 90+ Points in all tests. So, my teacher skipped Senior Class 1, and moved me to Senior Class 2..

I have never ever skipped a grade in my entire life when I was at school. For some reason, people tell me that I skipped a grade but no, I didn't. I just followed every grade in school.

Whenever I told them that they know that I skipped a grade, don't know. I never skipped a grade in my entire life.

But sometimes, I feel like that I skipped a grade but I realized that I didn't skip a grade. I was just a normal school student who is following every grade. Sometimes, I feel nervous whenever people tell me that I skipped a grade before. One time, I had like this friend that he says that I skipped 5th Grade and I tell that I didn't skip 5th Grade and that he has another friend that he skipped a grade and that everybody can do that, and that he told me that I was forced to skip that grade because they want me to follow every grade in school. So basically, I am still happy that I didn't skip a grade in my entire life.

I was given the opportunity in grade primary/kindergarten but my mother wouldn't allow it. She wanted me to be with kids my own age. I didn't go to pre-school, but I don't really consider that to be an important thing anyway. At the age of two I managed to teach myself how to read by screwing around with a television remote until I turned closed captioning on while watching my favorite film at the time, Toy Story.

Nope.  I take Spanish a year ahead though, but I think most of the kids in my grade do that...  So not really...?  Yeah.  I had a lot of troubles learning as a little kid because I never talked, so I don't really think I would be offered the chance to go up a grade.  Oh well...

I didn't. Even if I could I wouldn't because I would miss out on a year of learning.

If you count being kicked out of school before the end of seventh grade (to be homeschooled), then being placed BACK into school for the ninth grade, then yes. Yes I have.

I was offered to skip the 4th grade, but I declined because I didn't want to really stand out, because that would be bad in the case of bullies.

I lived in NY for 6 or 7 years, so when I started school in Kindergarten, the cut-off was 12/31, which is before my birthday, so that was the year I went into Kindergarten. But when I moved to Wisconsin, the cut-off was 9/1, which is after my birthday (9/30/00), so everyone thinks I skipped a grade when I didn't. I was never really that tall, so I'm pretty much smaller then everyone except for a few people in 7th grade, and it doesn't help that I am the youngest too, so I get picked on for my height a lot.

unfortunately no, and I probably would say no if I was offered to. It is bad because you are a year ahead of the normal year you had all your friends in, so you will be in a completely different place now with kids that are older and maybe more mature for you, I know a friend who skipped a grade and now he is a sophomore, he really wishes he didn't do it because he said 9th grade was tough  (he skipped 7th grade and has always been a year ahead.) and regretted skipping it. I just don't think it is something I would do because I only know a small number of kids that are sophomores, and I like the friends I have as a freshman so I don't want to skip a grade and risk not being friends with them anymore. Plus that means jumping into harder material which I really don't need, I have plenty of tough classes now as it is. So no I have not skipped a grade, and I probably would not want to either.

I, personally have never skipped a grade.  I had a friend who did skip a grade though.  It was when we were very young though.  He is a very smart guy.
