I've been playing Chrono Trigger with the SNES emulator.  I'm not sure what has happened, but for some reason when I open the emulator and hit F4 to load my game, it loads someone else's game.  No one else uses this computer, so no one was playing on the emulator but me. I was almost done with the game, so this is a bummer.  I played yesterday and then closed the window.  Then, this morning, it loads a game that has different names for the characters and is very far behind where I was in the game.   I just started using this site, so I'm not sure if there is anything that can be done to retrieve MY game.  I tried refreshing both the Vizzed site and the emulator. I tried going into the game's save options to load from there, but it's the same.  I'm not sure what else I can do. Any suggestions would be appreciated. 

I would try messaging RGR staff directly just to make sure they are informed of the issue. I am certain that they can help you out.

I saw this in the RGR Staff box. I do not know how to fix the problem. I think it just might be your file getting mixed up. It might have happened during the maintenance. I think that save states can be retrieved manually by the higher staff. I will make sure your PM remains marked as unread until someone who knows how what to do reads it.

Thank you so much.  That is very helpful.  It's not the end of the world if it turns out there's nothing they can do--it's just a game--but if it can be retrieved somehow that would be great.  

I think maybe you forgot to save the game? You did say that you just closed it. If you do not hit F2 or wait for the game to completely load then it will not work. I hope that this is the problem otherwise it could be a site issue as (as far as I know) the save states are stored on here. Either way I do not know any way to solve it.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think that's it.  You see, even if I had forgotten to save, it would have just been at the last time I saved (and I save A LOT, so it wouldn't have been very far back--this save point is near the beginning of the game and I was almost at the end). And the characters all have totally different names than the ones I gave them, and different weapons, everything.  It's obviously someone else's save point.  I just don't know how it would have gotten like that.  Thanks for the help.  It's okay, just confusing.  I beat the game when I was a kid, so it's not a big deal--mostly playing for nostalgia.  Just a perplexing situation.  

I know it has been a while since you posted this, but it turns out that during the time you had this problem, a lot of newcomers were having this problem. It turns out that due to the server transfer, all games that were saved by guests or users that just weren't signed in when they made the save state were thrown into a public save pile. So you likely made your save either while not signed in, or before you officially made an account and were a guest. Either way, the save state had no user to identify itself with, so it was put into the public save pile. So when you tried to upload a save state after the transfer, since there was no state identified as yours, it would just give you a random game from the public save pile. Being that you have been a user for a few weeks, you are not having this problem anymore, so I am going to go ahead and close this. If you are still having this problem, just PM me and request that I reopen it.
