Well, Pikachu can't evolve without a thunderstone. I might be wrong, but I think that Ash wanted to do it after battling Lt. Surge, but Pikachu didn't want to and Ash realized that he thought Pikachu was great the way he was. Again, that might not be correct because I stopped watching after they introduced all the new Pokemon after the original 151.

It's to keep Pikachu as the mascot of Pokemon. They would have winded up changing it to Raichu if he evolved. This is what I think.

It would be near impossible to change everything if Pikachu evolved.

Plus, as Ash is the main character, it would be natural that his strongest Pokemon would be the mascot of Pokemon.

It's kind of like that "If it's not broken, then don't fix it." Plus, after that whole Lt. Surge incident, Pikachu won't really evolve after that. It would probably anger a lot of Pokemon fans.

Ash's Pikachi made the decision not to evolve and there was a touchy moment where the lesson was liking someone/ it (Ash's Pikachu) just the way it is. Also it's sorta the mascot of Pokmon now, so it would be weird if Ash finally got Riachu.

Because Ash used a gameshark to get pikachu. It was like lvl.8337 when he got it because it take out 20 dang spearows without resting. Because he used a gameshark the day before it glitches and now thunderstones don't work.

so is right rcarter2 ash dont let pikachu evaluated because he wanted to beat the gym leader but pikachu failed and the only hope on that moment was the thunder stone but pikachu dont want it so he become´s stronger and beat the gym leader

Yeah, I distinctly remember that particular episode...I would like to see a special where Pikachu does evolve out of his own choice, but he later regrets it and they have to reverse the evolution...

I do have to agree with a previous poster that Pikachu is simply too weak considering all the work he does...I mean in the fifth region, he got beaten by a trainer who got their first Pokemon mere moments before! While Pikachu was badly injured a short while before, he should still have been able to do something!
