I currently have Windows 7 on my computer. From November 2011 to late July this year though, I used Windows XP until the hard drive's power supply decided to die all of a sudden. I'm not going to switch over to Windows 8 anytime soon (probably not until it's absolutely necessary) because I don't like what Microsoft changed about it.

I use two computers. One is a Windows XP, and the other is a Windows 7. XP is kind of alright, but it's an older computer, so when more sites get updated they stop working on it though . But 7 runs really smoothly. I love it!

I have Windows 7, but I really like what all the ads are saying about Windows 8, so I plan on maybe getting it sometime in the future, but cost may be a problem.

My laptop was made for Windows 7 but I upgraded to Windows 8 only a month after I got it. That means I can't touch five or six places at once and my computer recognize all of them, but that is the only difference than a Windows 8 laptop and it doesn't make a difference.

I recommend anyone who has touch screen to get Windows 8. It boots and shuts down really fast and the apps make it better than the iPad as an app device. It
is very different from Windows 7 contrary to popular belief.

Windows 8

For those still using Windows XP, please be aware of this.  It's about to become a hackers dream in April 2014.  Microsoft will stop providing security patches for both Internet Explorer, and the operating system.  Hackers will reverse engineer the patches on other systems, and see if it would apply to XP as well.  Windows XP users should switch soon.

I use Windows 7. It's comfortable, easy to use, and easy to understand (at least for me). I don't really have any intentions to upgrade to 8.

I might have made a reply a while ago, but I use or have used all of them except for Windows Vista. Vista is apparently supposed to be highly incompatible and resource heavy which is why it's been overlooked for the most part.

I currently use Windows 7 on my laptop, XP for my desktop, and 2000 for my legacy computer.

When I was very young, I used 95 and 98 as a primary OS (this was around 2001-2002).

Arsam234 : Wow, that's scary to think about.

Luckily, the family XP hasn't been touched in years.

I wonder whether similar issues rose up for Windows 2000.

On the topic of the thread, I occasionally get the update messages for Windows 8.1.

While I was hesitant at first, I'm planning to update soon unless I hear valid reasons not to, which I haven't found yet.

EideticMemory :
Windows 2000 also is not supported anymore.  It became vulnerable once that occurred.  However, there were not as many threats back then that there are right now.
This is the first time Microsoft has alerted users about an expiring operating system.  And they are pounding, trying everything they can to get people off XP.  It's in such high use, and using outdated defense systems.  Think of it this way, the computers are candy and ice cream, whereas the hackers are the kids.  It will be attacked within minutes of support ending.  Yes, it is scary.  I'm glad to hear you aren't using it.

I just recently upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 about 2 weeks ago and I don't see anything wrong with it.  It's pretty good.

Is this just for our computers? Last time, I did say that I planned on getting Windows 8 for my computer, but the thing is, I never had the opportunity to save up enough money to pay for it. Because of this, I still have Windows 7 for my computer and I also have Windows Vista on my other computer. Of the two that I have on my computers, I still like Windows 7 the best. This is where I return to my first statement, because I recently bought a Nokia phone and it comes pre-equipped with Windows 8. Though some people gave it bad reviews, I think it works great on the phone. I still really want to get it for the computer though.
