I read it this morning, but my enthusiasm has died down since.

In general it takes the different look a different group can give. Scientists needed gamers help because gamers think differently than scientists. By working collaboratively, they were able to make this enzyme.

It's pretty cool, but I won't celebrate till it cures something.

I knew it had to do with the game FoldIt. I heard about that game just yesterday. It is great to know that such things like video games, which were considered to have no benefits, do have their place. Hopefully this will take things in the right direction.

That's pretty neat. I wonder if they'll make more games like that that will better society while still providing entertainment for gamers.

The best that has been done was being able to suppress the virus so that the symptoms don't surface. Other than that, the only thing that has been able to completely rid a virus is the natural ability to eventually build immunity. Otherwise, once you get a virus, you have it for life. A virus like AIDS isn't something that you can suppress the symptoms of. But hopefully this can be a step in the right direction.
