I get the above quote all of the time. Regardless of what I am doing fast or slow I get the error. I hate it, I could log on try to view another page and get the error. I do not know if it is supposed to run this way or not.

I get this frequently too. The purpose of this is a new security system for the site in response to those attacks that happened a few months ago. The attackers used a bot that cycled through pages on the said by the thousands in a short period of time, overloading the site. So this new system locks onto any user that it sees going through a lot of pages in a certain amount of time, and locks them out for 60 seconds in case it is a bot. It is inconvenient, and I don't know if the system is getting tweaked so this happens less often. I notice that this happens if I decide to make a lot of posts by going on the new posts screen. I notice that you usually make around the same amount of posts by doing this as I do a day. I assume this is when you get it the most? The only advice I can offer is to avoid using the back button. Also, if you are like me, you make a post, wait to get redirected, and then click on the new posts tab again. Keep in mind that doing this makes you go through 4 screens in a matter of seconds when you count the fact that you go to that 'thanks for posting page' and go back to the thread you posted in. Try staying on that threads page after post in it for about 10 seconds before checking for new posts. It helps me out a lot when I remember to do that.

But yes that is what happens to me almost all the time pretty much every day and it is really awful. The other thing that does not help is if I am really getting hardcore I have two tabs open. I guess I will have to start sticking to one at the moment.

Yeah. It is one of those things that may make it inconvenient, but beats having the site overloaded by hacker bots again I'm sure the problem won't be permanent, given some people have gotten banned because of this and had to get someone else to let Davideo7 know so he can lift it.

i get about twice a day kinda sucks but rcarter is right better then hackers

there are 2 triggers for this.... the first one is about 9 page views in 3 seconds.... the other is 30 page views in 60 seconds or something like that.... so if you move through pages too quickly on either one you'll hit it.

I get that if i view 5 pages in about 30 seconds(yeh,i counted)its annoying because i get server errors,refresh the page,then bam,50 second wait.i can see its the lesser evil though.

Ok I adjusted the security again and removed anyone who got a perma ban.

It really doesn't make any sense why it's getting triggered when people aren't reaching the limit.  It seems like the problem just gets worst and worst, doesn't seem like it was as much of a problem before.  Once I get more time I'll have to look into it more thoroughly

Davideo7 : Ok I am glad that I am not the only one with the problem and I hope that you have time soon to get the problem settled down. I think that it is running on computer time or something like that, seems like it is too fast.

I actually did get it fixed, I posted a thread about it in the News forum.

Ok iv'e got a problem when i'm trying to play a new game and it is downloading my computer sometimes loses connection and it messes up the game to where it won't load or even download again so is there a way to re download my games when this happens so I can play them?
