To put it simply, no. Nintendo is leaning toward the casual market with only core franchises (Legend of Zelda, Mario. Etc. Etc.) actually having any weight with core gamers. The DS is just another way to appeal to the casual gamers. Moving the stylus back and forth very fast and wiggling your arm honestly are not too different. Moving from the casual market back to the core market would be stupid, especially after they won the console wars by millions of consoles. So, Nintendo will not make another Game Boy. Chances are they will not even make too many more mobile systems because of the new Iphone gaming trend, and how because of it, the handheld gaming market is completely destroyed.

Well technically, the Nintendo DS originated from the Game Boy, only this time with two screens. But it would be a great idea if perhaps the Game Boy would have High Def. screens like the 3DS. Any game like Pokemon Emerald would be inserted into the slot and have graphics and sound completely renewed. It would also be good for the cartridges NOT TO HAVE BATTERIES!!!

They probably had a good reason to end the GameBoy line, and I respect that.

I agree, the DS pretty much covers all that another Gameboy could offer and more. If they really wanted something that felt like a Gameboy experience, they could just make all the action take place on the bottom screen and have the top screen be practically nothing.
